I think the misogynist contempt that’s evident as a motivation in the murder of Renee Good makes her killing by a state actor more similar to so-called private violence—eg domestic violence homocides—than some arguments that rely on a firm distinction between state and private violence can sustain.

“Beth Israel is not just a building. It is a witness [to] Jewish persistence in a place where Jews have lived as a tiny minority for generations, carving out space for faith & community … in the Deep South.

To see it burned is to feel a familiar Jewish nausea.”

An arsonist torched a Mississippi synagogue. It feels hauntingly familiar.
A rabbi who served The Temple in Atlanta, bombed in 1958, reflects on arson at a Jackson, Miss. synagogue — and how history repeats itself.

Someone set fire to the only synagogue in Mississippi’s capital.

No coverage yet in our nations leading publications, outside an AP story in WaPo.

Re-upping this after the video I saw of the dork refusing to leave the New Beverly
I have a plan to save movie theaters and it’s gonna work:

Double-price for phone-friendly showings. You can have your phone out the entire time, make calls, talk, bring young active children without fear of being judged.

Half-price for silent showings. Phone use gets you banned for six months.

readers LOVE it when you shoehorn extra events into a character's backstory in the sequels. ESPECIALLY if it contradicts everything they already know. TRUST ME
