Part of the problem is that even when you do this (I try my best), the response you get is tepid and uninvested.

It really reveals that even the people who read trans books (rather than just post about them) aren't thinking about them critically.

It's not 'literature,' it's a trans book.

i was just talking to a fellow trans writer about this: recognizing that when my book comes out next year, most reviews will be infuriatingly shallow, "i liked it" "i didn't like it" "here's some checkboxes" whereas actually engaging with what i'm doing (or failing to do!) is what i want, a kindness

I cannot stress this enough with the protests tomorrow: BE CAREFUL!!!! Dont post pictures with faces, dont post saying where you're at, dont fuck around!!!! This is not the same level of fascism we were at during the last #NoKings protest! They have built up more, and are willing to do more!

If you're taking to the streets to protest today, know your rights.

"KNOW YOUR PROTEST RIGHTS
You don’t need a permit to protest in response to breaking news and you don’t need a permit to march in the streets or along sidewalks, as long as you’re not obstructing traffic or access to buildings.
When you are lawfully present in any public space, you have the right to photograph anything in plain view, including federal buildings and the police.
If you believe your rights have been violated, when you can, write down everything you remember, get contact information for witnesses, and take photographs of any injuries.
If you get stopped by the police, ask if you’re free to go. If they say yes, calmly walk away.
If you get arrested, you have a right to ask why. Otherwise, say you wish to remain silent and ask for a lawyer immediately. Don’t sign, say or agree to anything without a lawyer present.
If you get stopped by a member of the military or any law enforcement office at a protest, you have the right to remain silent or to tell them that you’ll only answer questions in the presence of an attorney — no matter your citizenship or immigration status."

with such care and have found such a kind soul of a doctor. As a fellow chronic illness baddie, it is a relief to hear that there are still good doctors who care out there. I hope that your doctors put their brains together, it's something that could be a huge clue as to what's going on with you!-

also, don't worry about taking your time responding!!! I mean we all have our own lives and being in chronic pain makes it hard to even want to respond or be online at times, plus I never care if people take weeks or even months to respond. Honestly, I'm just glad to hear that you're being treated-

variant of lupus that constantly tests negative yet they still are like "hmmm I don't know" LOL so it's always good to research everything, even things ruled out! I find that reddit is a great place to research things since people with chronic pain often post on there and share their experiences-

That is SO fantastic to hear. It is so rare to find a doctor that not only cares, but truly tries to help and figure out not only what's going on but how to take care of you. I know how much of a struggle it is to find doctors with empathy and ones who don't just judge you based on either how you-
