1. In a major shadow docket ruling from the Supreme Court, the court has ruled against trans people's passports, giving a stay to the Trump administration.

The admin has previously indicated it intend to revoke some passports if it got this ruling.

Everyone should pay careful attention to the Maine voter ID ballot measure (Prop 1). It is on track to lose -- thereby proving that the GOP claims that voter ID laws are overwhelmingly popular is a lie. Perhaps now the legacy media will stop repeating that nonsense.

Tonight, Democrats swept races across the country, from New York City to Virginia and New Jersey to Pennsylvania to California to Georgia to Maine. Democrats won these tough races because we ran strong candidates focused on what matters most to Americans — affordability and kitchen table issues. Democrats didn’t only win these races — Democrats dominated across the country. With these victories, Democrats will enter 2026 with strong momentum heading into the midterms, as the DNC continues to invest in organizing and building power across the country.

In Virginia, Abigail Spanberger won by the largest margin in at least 40 years after shifting nearly every county blue.
In New Jersey, Mikie Sherrill erased Trump’s gains in 2024 with Black, Hispanic, and AAPI voters, and for the first time in 60 years, a single party has been elected to control the governor’s mansion for three consecutive terms.
In Pennsylvania, Democrats made huge inroads across the Commonwealth, so far including nearly 3 in 4 voters voting “Yes” on retention in Allegheny County and nearly 2 in 3 voters in bellwether Bucks County. “Yes” is tracking for a 20-point margin of victory.
In Georgia, two Democrats won seats on the Public Service Commission, the first time Democrats have won non-federal statewide races in nearly 20 years.
Meanwhile, this election was a referendum on Donald Trump and his failure to keep his promises to lower costs and make life better for working families. Trump sold them out to line the pockets of billionaires and rig the system for himself and his friends.

A reminder: For the past 90 years, when Democrats swept the New Jersey governor’s race, Virginia governor’s race, and NYC mayor’s race, Democrats won the majority in the House the next year.

New York City's election today comes after hundreds of thousands of city residents made small donations that were matched in the public campaign financing program.

Ben Ryan wrote an article in the New York Sun about our reporting.

Apparently, Wazzou's entire ability to accredit continuing medical education courses is under threat after our reporting revealed they accredited a hate group with pseudoscientific practices for CME classes.

Wow.

Ms. Keesey, who is the associate director of continuing education at WSU’s medical school, said in the email of ACCME’s demands: “We need to provide a written response by Nov 16 detailing our process for accrediting the 7 modules, how we ensured the evidence is fair and balanced etc.” She expressed concern that if an investigation came down against the medical school, WSU could be put on probation by the ACCME or even lose its authority to accredit CMEs outright.

“I am very sorry about this situation—I’ve never seen anything like this from a national accrediting body,” Ms. Keesey wrote.

For what it’s worth, the agreement - while very bad - is much less targeted towards trans students than I have seen in other college agreements. There is no definition of sex, no explicit bans (but one sort of implicit convoluted one), and even leaves an out for “relevant court decisions.”
