Today is a day when arts degrees are worthless, but the product of those degrees is so valuable it would kill an entire industry if they were made to pay for it.

As a frequent user of the ponds, it disgusts me that terfs are taking a beautiful place and pouring their hate into it. Please fill in this survey if you want to protect this space for all women and make trans women feel. PS the ducks think terfs suck. And the friendly fox. And the crows.

The Gender Critical have already inundated this survey with their disgusting views on banning trans people from using the ponds.

Would be a shame if we inundated with trans positive views on not banning trans people.

Our collections include registers of births at the Salvation Army Mothers' Hospital in Clapton - many of the other records of the hospital are held at @salvarmyarchive.bsky.social.
Read this fascinating article to find out more about the role of Salvation Army midwives 'on the district' 👀

Throwing paint on a plane is terrorist violence but trying to burn down asylum seekers accommodation or wanting them or trans people assaulted or dead is just reasonable legitimate concerns of the people

The gov really are just saying calls for violence against certain demographics are okay actually, more than okay, reasonable and maybe even policy ideas

I just want him to come out and say “we’ve seen some disgusting, racist behaviour outside hotels housing asylum seekers and it’s got to stop”. Is that really so hard to say?

Possible causes of your problems. It’s a diagram that (sadly) still seems relevant in 2025, so reposting a year and a bit on.
Diagram titled 'Possible causes of your problems'. On the left hand side, subtitled 'Yes': Funding removed from local councils, growing gap between rich and poor, multinational companies not paying their taxes, lack of new affordable housing, government not investing sufficiently in schools and healthcare. On the right hand side, subtitled 'No': Picture of small boat, with arrow; 'People fleeing horrific situations that you and I can't imagine'.

Such a beautiful wedding in Somerset
A white couple stand in front of a historic yellowy stone building. He wears a green tweed suit with orange floral tie. She wears a blue satin dress. She smiles joyfully at him A view across a field of sheep with a tree off to the side. The grass is gold in the evening sunset View across a meadow field with two large trees in the middle, against a blue sky A white woman with brown hair and wearing a blue satin dress takes a photo of herself in a mirror

Always interesting to see what has been used as backing material in picture frames

Mystery Chapel:
Does anyone recognise this chapel? It is most likely in the South East of England, might be a hospital or institutional chapel, and was photographed in the 1950s. The photographer was a TB patient around this time, from St Paul's Cray and latterly at Eversfield Hospital, Hastings.
photo of a smallish chapel, simple gothic style, probably brick with small fleche, roughly three bay nave, with twin lancet windows separated by buttresses, and broader chancel end with triple lancet window in centre.
