The rig I made for King Anansi (IG:myroperoom). Heavily charred Douglas fir 4x6s, brushed for deep texture and rich mineral sparkle, oiled and sealed in satin topcoat, buffed with coarse denim for a buttery feel. All joints are mortised and set with threaded inserts making every part structural af.

The main cross beam is 9 feet and 6 inches long and made of thick Douglas fir. There are angled braces at the corners which attach it to thick uprights as well as angles that attach the uprights to the base. There is a light colored wooden ring hanging from the beam by a bright blue climbing sling.

The best part of my Folsom weekend was finally meeting someone I’ve admired from afar for years. My mutuals have been asking if we’ve met or saying we should meet. Even if you aren’t masking anywhere else it still makes sense to wear a mask in medical settings & pharmacies because there’s a greater chance of being close to someone contagious & there are more people who are at higher risk in these places. Masking in these settings both protects you & others.

I really think there should be a continued public health push to have people wear a mask in pharmacies and medical settings since that is where sick people and people who are higher risk can be found frequently. It has never made any public health sense to loosen those precautions.
