My smol collection of vintage cat-in-shoe pencil sharpeners. 👠
Three little figurines depicting strangely smooth and cosmetically enhanced cats sitting in platform heel shoes. One cat is light brown in a dark blue and white shoe, one white with blue highlights in an orange shoe, and one is an odd sea green in a red shoe. Photo of two pencil sharpeners side by side on a wooden shelf. One is a pissed off looking grey tabby in an orange and red shoe, the other is a derpy looking pink cat in a dark blue high heeled clog.

Cold, rainy days are a new and unwelcome experience for Fable.

This two-parter below is exactly why it's hard to make clothes in the United States.

Let's look at how much it costs to produce a button-up shirt in the US. 🧵
Someone on Twitter replies to me: "meh. buy american or stfu."

Two hours later, in a separate thread, the write: "$30 for a single button-up is ridiculous unless it is decent quality silk."

"The U.S. is two economies. There's an enormous AI boom going on, huge investments, particularly in data centers. If you took that out of the numbers and you just looked at the non-AI parts of the economy, it's basically flatlining. We're on the cusp of a non-AI recession."

protest marches will be deemed unconstitutional in three seconds flat if there's a march that size

I don't know why they do it, but reader mode is the default for me on almost every new site and blog now. It's unbearable otherwise

Sorry for the string of videos, but this is amazing and makes me wonder if this is what life could be like if we all just logged off the internet.

It's been a pretty surreal day on BlueSky. It reached its peak when some rando insisted that I am English, despite my protestations to the contrary, because I am "culturally English", and should embrace being English, since "ceding Englishness to Reform" is why they are so high in the polls.

The Trump-China trade relationship reminds me of my middle school love life: On one week, off the week, high drama, passing notes, heartache, renewal, gossip, and we did it all again the next week.

The reality, of course, is that despite the drama, no-one was making long-term commitments.

One of the many touching things that happened this past week was that my friends at @merrymacsanctuary.bsky.social named a new rabbit after Fergus. Like my Fergus, he is BIG and soft and sweet and has huge adorable paws.
Photo of a very handsome brown rabbit, sitting up and looking disapprovingly at the camera.
