The priest on the right is holding a monstrance. It’s used to display a piece of communion bread — which Catholics believe becomes the literal body of Christ when it’s consecrated — for worship.

A monstrance is normally only used in *very* solemn ceremonies.

It would be a small comfort to know it was some drunk guy doing random vandalism stuff and not anything intentionally hateful. It’s such a different thing. Hope that’s the case here.

Heartbreaking either way as far as the result, but it’s so much more heartbreak if it came from hate.

Yeah, I just wanted you to be able to do that with the full confidence that you are def not missing out.

We did family movie night with it last earlier this year, stick it out and everyone in the room was just… Unreasonably angry after. Not at each other, collectively, at whoever made that movie.

I don’t have school age kids so it’s a shame I’m not more exposed to her, but every single thing I see makes me like her more. Every time. Good people, that lady.

Seeing Ms. Rachel say exactly what needs to be said to Obama is so damn refreshing

Dear President Obama,
I saw in your statement you said "Israeli families" & "the people of Gaza."
Palestinians have families, too.
This kind of language contributes to dehumanization. Dehumanization is part of what caused so many to stay silent as 20,000 children were killed in this genocide.
I've sat with wonderful Palestinian families from Gaza. They look at their children just like we look at ours - with all the love & hope in the world.

There are so many shocking, outrageous, unprecedented things going on, I think it's important to recognize when something's actually just normal and unremarkable. We have plenty of actual mountains to worry about, no need to make more of them out of molehills. Qatar is not invading Idaho.

I work in this field. And yes, this is nothing new. The freak out over this is driving me insane. There are foreign air force members/equipment all over in USAF bases.

We sell, train, and sustain aircraft and weapons to many different countries.

This is Hegseth trying to make it sound like a bigger deal than it is. We have friendly foreign air forces in the US for training exercises and the like all the time, especially ones that use US equipment. That's what this is. It's not like an operational deployment or giving them a whole airbase.
