Your annual reminder that the most revealing difference between Irish and Scottish Gaelic is definitely in the words for December: Mí na Nollag (Month of Christmas) in Ireland, and An Dubhlachd (the Blackness) in Scotland. So once again may I wish you all a lovely Blackness.

Thanksgiving Friday with my son and his love. They did most of the cooking yesterday and had their first Thanksgiving in their own place just the two of them, and had me over to watch football and host our lil family dinner tonight. They did such a great job on the food! 🍗🥦🥔

And now I have an autographed copy of Buzz’s book to geek out over & pass down to my son. (Plus Buzz’s business card, which is also pretty geek-out-worthy.)

This is the first Thanksgiving for Sophie & Colin Hortman without their parents, Minnesota state Rep. Melissa Hortman and Mark Hortman who were assassinated along with the family dog in an act of political murder. National guards troops were not deployed to the state in response.

Okay… I prefer the discover feed bc it’s a lot of folks I follow, but also a bunch I don’t, which is normally good. EXCEPT.
I’ve never had this issue on any other site, but there’s too many freaks here and the lack of algorithm means ignoring and blocking doesn’t teach bluesky not to show me them 😭

One thing I wish would make a comeback is stationary phones. I don’t like that people have the capacity to speak with me on the same thing I listen to podcasts on. That should be its own thing that has its own dedicated room in the house and I should have to wear a suit to use it.
