oh this video rules it's literally perfect
That part I assume actually is written into their contracts 😌
they decided to take a bit of a break, work with the rookies, do some outreach to other companies while getting rid of a bit of the loyalist image to fans. That's my guess.
Were probably going to join EXV after Mayu left and they were doing something new with Stars but then the timing made no sense with Maika needing time off, so rather than half-ass something to shoehorn them into a new faction
Also while I'm on it just to put it out there my actual theory about what's up with FWC is that as Stardom originals they were really excited about getting to wrestle elsewhere as well now and surprised by their tepid outsider/company loyalty hostility reaction at first in OZ.
I just think if you're gonna start a take with how someone is clearly unhappy with their booking you really gotta remember that yeah that's not impossible but you're talking about people making real job decisions because of the fake championships like maybe this too is the story
That's really where we're at now taking some time off from doing stories & big matches means you're done? Like how credulous are we exactly are we taking seriously Tomoka & Azusa being JTO talent first too
doing indie appearances with the companies that Just Happen to be the most involved with Stardom feuding with people who so far have always gone on to be the ones who show up back in Stardom in reverse that's a coincidence???
Like idk man yeah I don't know them but they literally didn't leave???? They still make their merch they're still on almost every show like is that where we're at now taking the 5 Star off doing a month in Mexico in what was obviously leading to the announcement of a partnership,
Every once in a blue moon this year I'll come across a take about FWC leaving Stardom or their obvious unhappiness there and I'm like ???????

I like that Saki's skill at wrestling is a genuine curse for her. She can't help but be good and win matches and it's the worst thing that could possibly happen to her.
which I think did come across kind of backwards and made for a super awkward segue into her Kamitani feud lol but such is wrestling. And it sounded like their match was unsurprisingly good so Oh Well
Yeah I think the follow through was a bit weird but it's also not necessarily "finished" even though she dropped the IWGP belt back to Syuri. I don't think Hanan was injured yet but afaik due to like, booking & timing realities the one who did sort of the company flag waving stuff was Momo -
So yeah it's the wrong kind of hot & mean to an extent but as I understand it she definitely turned it up to actively try and play heel through her feuds there through the summer
Being 7 months behind I can't say for certain but I think when she first showed up she got a bit of a lukewarm/stupid company loyalty stuff reaction that wasn't expected, which she leaned into hard by being extremely condescending & superior.

behold my wrestler compass
"Alright mate well you sure you don't just want to google the way there? It's really not that complicated it's just -" "Nope! Yeah no I'm good, I'm not lost. That would just you know ruin the fun, yeah. No yeah I'll find it I'm fine. Haven't spent 3 hours on this level that was someone else. Oowoo!"
"Oh what are you doing all the way out here? There's no objectives out here, why'd you think there might be something there?" "Yeah no I was just enjoying the level design, just wanted to see what was over this way."
Like you're absolutely in a conversation with the game. "Oh sure you didn't want to just go through this cave? You broke that vase, AND lost that hat you've been wearing all level" "No yeah I'm good, just checking out paths for when I do side content on another playthrough"
& the level design loving to put easier routes exactly where you'll fall when you fuck up trying the harder route that you saw first it *absolutely* puts you there right when you're thinking "maybe I don't have my shit together but at least I'm not THIS bad"
Something that's really getting me about Baby Steps is how you really do end up roleplaying Nate. At first it's all "jesus CHRIST dude if you would only use your HANDS" and laughing at this loser who won't just ask for help. With ie. lack of stuff like a map (pointed out super early on)
