GF strike group is headed down that way. Don't know their exact posit but there is a potential for them to get beat to hell by this hurricane. We usually avoid things like hurricanes for good reason. They sink ships...even big ones. Not so much worried about the CVN but the escorts.

I think such a scenario was very much on some people's minds a while back, in the form of a civvie cargo vessel with a MRBM hidden within it. Reentry survival of the RV would be much easier to engineer than with intercontinental velocities.

I just watched it, and wondered why, if they wanted to make a movie with an unattributed nuclear attack upon the US as a plot device, they didn't go with a launch from a surface vessel say within 1,000 km of either US coastline. Not as much flight time I guess within which to build dramatic tension.
