- House Republicans block Democrats from passing a bill to pay the troops during the shutdown, ensuring they will miss paychecks next week

In an alternate reality Jeb Bush was president and in my mind he would have been trying really hard to look cool like Obama and it'd be really embarrassing and everyone regardless of political parties would have told him so, but also almost none of the bad things from the past decade happen.

My cynical read on this is that the Silksong Drop is going to be replicated in a lot of high-profile indie games going forward and that while they do genuinely likely need a little extra time the best way to get sales numbers is to keep a brief hype cycle of "it's coming next week"
