Hey, kids! Who wants to look at some Old Game Development Images? When we were starting work on remastering Sam & Max Save The World, we weren't sure what we wanted things to look like so we did a couple early tests by drawing over the original game, sweetening the colors, trying more stylization:

A screenshot of the original Sam & Max Season One from 2006. A six foot tall dog in a suit and a three foot tall rabbit-like creature are standing in a 3D cartoon-stylized private detecrtive's office, with very simple mid-2000s rendering and lighting.

The same base image as the original screenshot, with color and lighting adjusted to warm up the scene, and the walls changed to green to help add some contrast to the scene.

The same screenshot again, but with very badly drawn black ink lines added to replicate a more comic book style.

you can figure out which one is Sam and which one is Max with kiki and bouba mentality. Max is a kiki name, and Max's design is kiki. Sam is a bouba name, and so is Sam's design. Same goes for their personality too.
