I absolutely agree with this - I only travel for events because the idea of just "going for a holiday" comes with so much baggage about what I'm expected to do and see and enjoy.

I clocked to my ADHD because I have very strong hyperactive/impulsive traits, which are harder to explain away. I can't tell how other people think, but I can see they don't do dumb shit like I did.

This is despite me being diagnosed, and when she filled in the questionnaire about me for my diagnosis, she came away saying "I think you do have ADHD. I think I have ADHD too." (Then she lost the paper. Because she has ADHD.)

This has been a huge problem for my mother - she only really figured it out by watching documentaries about ADHD, where people who had been diagnosed described thinking in the exact way she does.
