Forgotten, forgetful gods (of a sort) walk among us. Listen to some of their stories…

In fact, the reason LLMs are being used to exacerbate these things is precisely the same as why corporations and govs did these things previously, and if the incentives / feedbacks changed so would how the tech is utilized.
Corp extraction of assets, copyright being used in lawfare, energy and resource consumption-- not a single one of these is solved if you could Thanos snap LLMs out of existence. (And we can't).
I absolutely think what corporations (and governments!) are and will do with LLMs is a problem.

My thing is that these are the exact same problems we had before LLMs, and should be handled similarly--or else it's all completely moot.
Today's AWS outage is a good example of both the kind of exposure to cascade failures baked into the "modern world" and also the fact that the majority of Amazon's business is now data, not retail. (60% of their business is AWS, last I checked).
This is a post about the British Museum right
Personally, the dividing line is how funny it is
You've got to recognize that by doing this you've already conceded

This is actually ancient Greek masculinity: "David Halperin describes ancient Greeks as 'puritans about virility…thematized as domination.' To be a man was to be full master of both oneself and others top of a supposedly natural hierarchy of ruler and ruled."

We're kind of already here, yes. Hoping that luck will pull us out.
Surely the CIA has never done anything untoward.

JD Vance shelled himself. You couldn't make it up.

The working conditions around here I swear to god
Obviously, it's never going to happen. (US doesn't recognize, even has explicit laws like the "Hague Invasion Act," allows the US President to use military force to free any American or allied personnel held by the ICC.)

But sure, in theory.
It'd be a solid choice. Also, modeling and fx units have come a long way, so you can go pretty far with a solid but not especially powerful amp and add something like a Helix or NeuralDSP when you want more tonal options.
Orange make solid amps. Is this primarily for practice?
Of course.

The real question is what we're willing and capable of doing about it.
Because the US will blow them up if they don't do what we want is basically this administration's strategy

A struggle that pops up from time to time in my heart is between my deep love of well thought out RPG mechanics driving emergent behavior and the fact that most of the best games I have ever been in have just been people talking.
Imagine if that many marched to the white house.
