Of course, the government need not hold a third referendum. There was no referendum when the UK joined the EEC - nor for that matter when the UK joined NATO, the UN or the League of Nations.
The Faragists would whinge but they’ll do that anyway.

There is no choice other than to persevere.

Applying for admission to the EU is not a simple task.
Others are already going through the process. Not all members will want the UK as a member.

Progress can be made in the meantime but the harm cannot be undone quickly.

The US has for decades had foreign airforces training in its skies. It’s part of the business of selling war planes. No use if you can’t fly them.

I think the mistake was to call it an airbase.

PS France, Sweden, the UK and others who sell warplanes do the same.

There are about 0.3m (½%) Jews in England and 4m (7%) Muslims. (ONS)
So you would expect about ten times more cases.

Would be interesting to see if BBC staffing reflects these proportions.

If all its allies did the same, the USA would lose lots of facilities. Ships would be unable to refuel, aircraft to complete their missions.

Don’t understand.
In pursuit of arms sales the USA has long hosted foreign military training facilities.
If you don’t train the pilots and ground staff you can’t sell the planes.
France, the UK, Sweden and others all have foreign military being trained.
