I received an update from Sentai Filmworks about why their store is not currently shipping to Canada. It appears that this will remain the case until Canada Post workers have a contract. All the more reason to support CUPW!
Hi Jesse,

Thank you for contacting us. Due to the uncertainty of the ongoing Canada Post negotiations, our 3rd party fulfillment partners have paused all order fulfillment to Canada until any possible disruption can be appropriately evaluated. As a result, we are regretfully unable to accept new orders at this time as we have temporarily suspended shipping to Canada.

We understand how frustrating and disappointing this situation is for our Canadian customers, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. We are continuing to monitor the situation closely and once we’ve confirmed with our 3rd party fulfillment partners that Canada shipping may resume; we will be sure to update the Sentai store to accommodate new Canada orders. Thank you for your patience and understanding. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.

Sincerely,
Opal

Hey friends. After having open heart surgery in Dec and another procedure in July, I've been left in 10k+ debt while recovering. During this, we were also laid off from Skullgirls. To try to help dig myself out, I have begun listing things on eBay: ebay.com/usr/mshinzan

Finally got around to playing with TransLink realtime GTFS data. Kind of fun. Transit in Vancouver is looking pretty good, especially considering this is an hour midday on a holiday weekend, with some lines not running (hello 44) and not all buses reporting real-time information.

How much allowance is there going to be for commercial space, even if limited use? Can we expect more flexibility on this for apartments or multiplexes further away from arterial roads?

Related note: I just found out that London Drugs stopped carrying PS5 games a few weeks ago and blew out all of their stock for a dollar or two a pop. I sure wish I had gotten wind of that at the time!

They could start carrying home video if they really wanted to step it up, but I'm not holding my breath on that one.

I'm liking the new direction they're taking.

In 2004, Parisian police were conducting a training exercise in the french catacombs and found, after moving past a desk and a tape playing audio of snarling dogs, a fully functional movie theater and bar. When they returned 3 days later, the equipment was gone, with a note: “Do not try to find us.”
Members of the force's sports squad, responsible
- among other tasks - for policing the 170 miles of tunnels, caves, galleries and catacombs that underlie large parts of Paris, stumbled on the complex while on a training exercise beneath the Palais de Chaillot, across the Seine from the Eiffel Tower.
After entering the network through a drain next to the Trocadero, the officers came across a tarpaulin marked: Building site, No access.
Behind that, a tunnel held a desk and a closed-circuit TV camera set to automatically record images of anyone passing. The mechanism also triggered a tape of dogs barking, "clearly designed to frighten people off," the spokesman said.
Further along, the tunnel opened into a vast 400 sq metre cave some 18m underground, "like an underground amphitheatre, with terraces cut into the rock and chairs". There the police found a full-sized cinema screen, projection equipment, and tapes of a wide variety of films, including 1950s film noir classics and more recent thrillers. None of the films were banned or even offensive, the spokesman said.
A smaller cave next door had been turned into an informal restaurant and bar. "There were bottles of whisky and other spirits behind a bar, tables and chairs, a pressure-cooker for making couscous," the spokesman said.
"The whole thing ran off a professionally installed electricity system and there were at least three phone lines down there."
Three days later, when the police returned accompanied by experts from the French electricity board to see where the power was coming from, the phone and electricity lines had been cut and a note was lying in the middle of the floor: "Do not," it said, "try to find us."

Maybe you should contact the PM and ask him why he is floating these trial balloons.
My experience in two decades of politics is that when a political leader makes a public statement about a very controversial issue it's because they are looking to see if people are going to respond.

The Great derangement syndrome:

With grocery giants ripping off Canadians, it’s time for a bold alternative: public grocery stores.

Food analyst Aaron Vansintjan explains how a publicly-run grocery option could solve the crisis of skyrocketing food costs.
