The Cook County Board of Commissioners passed a resolution today to denounce the callous and deceptive tactics used by federal agents—including ICE Agents. We call for strong congressional oversight. And we will continue to stand strong in solidarity alongside all of our residents.

A federal judge in Boston said she found it "difficult to conclude anything other than that [the Trump administration] used antisemitism as a smokescreen for a targeted, ideologically-motivated assault on this country's premier universities, and did so in a way that runs afoul of [federal law]."

The ruling is a legal victory for Harvard but the White House says it will appeal the decision.

The DOJ no longer requires temporary immigration judges to have experience in immigration law. The new rule, which went into effect on Thursday, permits any attorney to serve as a temporary immigration judge for a renewable six-month term.

Earlier this week, the Senate voted 70-27 against a measure introduced by Vermont's Bernie Sanders to block $675 million in additional U.S. arms sales to Israel. While many Democrats joined the effort, both Schumer and Gillibrand voted no.
