Exactly! Also, some use black cocoa powder, which is delicious, but it is also processed with alkaline substances, which can neutralize acidic medications.

(ADHD meds are alkaline, so eating or drinking acid-y things close to when you take those meds can neutralize them at that point, too.)

Spooky Season Reminder: Most "Halloween Black" food dye uses charcoal. Normally, it's safe to eat!

However:

Charcoal can NEUTRALIZE many types of medications!

If you're taking your meds (good for you!), make sure you consult your pharmacist to see if they might get neutralized!

Eat Safely!

I have beef with Catholic priests, but this guy is definitely doing the Christian thing, here (in the original sense, not antichrist-style neo-evangelical).

A far more truthful thing to call it is "torture" but folks get upset in the wrong way when they hear that label--they want to silence the use of the truth because it makes them feel uncomfy.

When 40% of all survivors try to de-exist themselves just bc of "therapy" trauma, it's torture, folks.

I am begging journalists to stop using “discredited therapy” re “conversion therapy” as it merely implies that it doesn’t work vs pushing back against the implication that queerness is a mental disorder (they took it out of the DSM ages) and is something that should be ‘corrected.’

If it prays with pedos, is friends with pedos, and pardons pedos…
A screenshot of an X.com post by @ASFleischman
, Andrew Fleischman, stating, "Trump pardoned 12 dudes who turned out to have molested children or possessed child pornography, and there seem to be a lot of others in his orbit," with a reply from @maddenfico
, Bill Madden, saying, "Trump's former 'spiritual leader,' pedophile Robert Morris, being led away in handcuffs after being sentenced to only 6 months in prison for sexually abusing a 12-year-old girl. Trump will probably end up giving him the Presidential Medal of Freedom. ," accompanied by an image of two men, one in a cowboy hat and sheriff uniform, escorting another man, with a building entrance in the background.

Notice how they’re now calling everyone else an “insurrectionist.” Pure projection.
A screenshot of an X.com post by House Homeland Security Committee (@HouseHomelandSecCo) stating, "We're drawing a blank, let us get back to you," with an image of a crowd storming a government building, featuring individuals in red caps and carrying flags. Below, a reply from @Acyn
, Acyn, posted 5 hours earlier, quotes Stephen Miller asking, "when in our history have we tolerated unlawful, riotous assemblies around government buildings," accompanied by a video thumbnail of Miller speaking on a news program, labeled "OANN 0:13" with text identifying him as the White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy.

Those cattle could almost walk unimpeded under that bull moose's belly! That's how big he is!

It may or may not be a Moment of Beauty, but it definitiely qualifies as a Moment of Wonder...

Most people know the approximate size of a cow, but do you know the approximate size of a moose? Here's a direct comparison!

I think Peter wouldn't believe him, until Superman points out how he's *just* a mutated human with (relatively) limited transportation & virtually no support infrastructure. Superman can go anywhere & has the Justice League for help, but Spider-Man? Awesomeness even on a shoestring budget!!

*nyooms right on over* CAT RESCUE!!

Pics, or it never purred!!!

This is Roy, my sister's cat, he's VERY much a ginger, NOT a rescue (though his momma was, iirc), and he still thinks I'm scary (I disciplined him as a kitten) but he INSISTS on getting SOME attention from me anyway.

We have gained the 9yolds.

The more our children question authority now, the more they are thinking critically, and will be far less likely to be deceived in the future by authority figures.

GOOD FOR THEM!!

The descriptions of "fey children" and "changechild" behaviors from medieval fairy tales very much describes people who were on the spectrum. Many fairy tale protagonists also display ADHD behaviors and more.

This is such a nuanced and big-hearted piece on the evolution of autism as a diagnosis, by an anthropologist of mental health who is also the dad of a now-grown daughter on the spectrum. Great reading (gift link) www.nytimes.com/2025/09/24/o...

(oh good, it does)

You will need the title, the ISBN, and the publisher's name (optional), as well as the standard contact information.

The date to submit works was September 1, but this was the first I saw this information, so...hopefully they'll allow it...? I don't know. We'll find out!
