I kind of put Anna Paulina Luna in the same basked as "Teenager elected to house Senate for the first time!". Mostly just dumb and voted into office because there's an R after her name. No more manipulation or degradation required.

Fuck the cocktail parties by the way. I just spent two month having to cover expensive events because local press couldn't get someone on the ground and it gets tiring really fast. If you bury a story for that kind of access, you might be a socialite, not a journalist.

And yes, I can point to a handful of very good outlets or newsletters, but I think people want one fundamental channel, radio station, or podcast that they can just flip to. And I don't have that any more. I don't know how to help someone trust journalism when I don't trust it myself.

It makes me crazy because I believe in journalism, but who can I point to, today? Not WaPo, not the NYT, not CBS. Maybe the Guardian or the AP, but they have problems of their own.

I have never been big on a "rivalry" between the two publishers. I like comics from both houses, and have criticisms for both. (Marvel only gets an edge right now because they did boost CrossGen Comics after it closed).
