Say what you want about Woody Allen, I agree, but Diane knocked it out of the park and gave one of the all time great performances in Annie Hall.

When you “well actually” a rallying cry with pedantic bullshit like “Patton wasn’t woke”, you miss the fucking point.

As I read a fascinating book on D-Day, I pause to look at the interwebs and see this discourse about how the “greatest generation were not actually antifa” and that’s fucking wrong.

Did many find themselves in the wrong side of history (ie. segregation) back home some time later?

Both can be true.

Columbus was lost. Celebrating him seems a bit DEI, innit?

Yup. There’s a Stealie in the wheelhouse behind him so it’s on camera a lot.

UNTIL IT’S DONE, Ep. 4: Sylvia Rivera

In the 1970s, queer New Yorkers had been pushed to the margins of NYC. Our trans neighbors faced immense cruelty. But in Sylvia Rivera, they found a champion.

As we combat Trump’s politics of darkness, her legacy can light the path forward.

You won’t know the next pandemic is happening until your neighbors or family start getting sick.
the governments goal now is to make the world more Darwinian and dangerous so those seen as weak(read poor and minorities) will die and those they see as strong (read wealthy and white) survive

made my first analog 4 track recording with my Teac 2340.
Very dark, damaged stuff. Fairly reflective of my headspace.
I dropped the audio over top of Phillipe Garrell's 1968 short "Actua"

Polling well but people have to turn out, still.

I'm working on a new label. The goal is to create a collection of exclusive tracks of Cosmic Ambient/Kosmiche/Experimental music inspired by the Universe🪐(astronomy, astrophysics, space race to sci-fi, ufology, philosophy,...). I'll appreciate any reposting.

I did not need this debate to happen to make my decision in this election but, if you want an easy illustration of why my choice is so clear... see below.

VA Gov debate:

Spanberger: my opponent has previously said that she does not think that gay couples should be allowed to marry

Earle-Sears: That's not discrimination

Spanberger: she thinks it's okay for someone to be fired from their job for being gay

In order for AI to avoid a bubble and collapse the tech companies need people, not enterprises, to use it. To use it daily. To use it for everything. To use it knowing they’re doing harm to themselves and others - job losses, mental health issues, climate impact, data privacy.

For no upside.

They didn’t just NOT give Trump the Nobel Peace Prize, they wrote a citation that reads like an anti-Trump rallying cry.

(He’s gonna extra-tariff Norway now, isn’t he?)

'When authoritarians seize power, it is crucial to recognize courageous defenders of freedom who rise and resist,' the Norwegian Nobel Committee said as it announced Maria Corina Machado as the winner of the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize

Trump will sincerely never understand why he didn't get it, why he will never get it, because the Peace Prize is about a lifetime's work, be it one person's lifetime or an idea's lifetime, and Trump's object permanence only extends as far as things he wants to fuck, kill, or eat.

David Simon, creator of ‘The Wire’, being interviewed by Ari Shapiro (NPR)
SHAPIRO: OK, so you've spent your career creating television without Al, and I could imagine today you thinking, boy, I wish I had had that tool to solve those thorny problems...
SIMON: What?
SHAPIRO: ...Or saying...
SIMON: You imagine that?
SHAPIRO: ...Boy, if that had existed, it would have screwed me over.
SIMON: I don't think Al can remotely challenge what writers do at a fundamentally creative level.
SHAPIRO: But if you're trying to transition from scene five to scene six, and you're stuck with that transition, you could imagine plugging that portion of the script into an Al and say, give me 10 ideas for how to transition this.
SIMON: I'd rather put a gun in my mouth.

Letter from antifa General Eisenhower to his antifa troops on the eve of D-Day.
SUPREME HEADQUARTERS
ALLIED EXPEDITIONARY FORCE
Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen of the Allied Expeditionary Force!
You are about to embark upon the Great Crusade, toward which we have striven these many months.
The eyes of the world are upon you, the hopes and prayers of liberty-loving people everywhere march with you, In company with our brave Allies and brothers-in-arms on other fronts, you will bring about the destruction of the German war machine, the elimination of Nazi tyranny over the oppressed peoples of Europe, and security for ourselves in a free world.
Your task will not be an easy one, Your enemy is well trained, well equipped and battle-hardened. He will fight savagely.
But this is the year 1944. Much has happened since the Nazi triumphs of 1940-41. The United Nations have in-ficted upon the Germans great defeats, in open battle, man-to-man.
Our air offensive has seriously reduced
their strength in the air and their capacity to wage war on the ground. Our Home Fronts have given us an overwhelming superiority in weapons and munitions of war, and placed at our disposal great reserves of trained fighting men. The tide has turned! The free men of the world are marching together to Victory !
I have full confidence in your courage, devotion to duty and skill in battle. We will accept nothing less than full Victory!
Good Luck! And let us all beseech the blessing of Almighty God upon this great and noble undertaking.
