People talk about John Cazale but Godfather, Play It Again Sam, Sleeper, Godfather II, Love & Death is also quite the five film run.

It is a truth universally acknowledged that a man with a fortune must be in want if a pie.

I'm not surprised considering how busy yo3uve been and you have to be "on" for interviews which is v draining. Hope you have done time to refill.

Vegan tampons apparently. Deep sigh.

I'm afraid I'll only accept tampons with actual butter, National Trust.

It’s v bizarre to me that there’s a group of listeners who seem to resent drama in a daily drama. I think some of it stems from those who absolute refuse to accept they are listening to a soap opera because they’re “not those sort of people”.

(also because should read became. A librarian wouldn’t make that mistake.)

Should add it also uplifting as well as enraging because the good people are there: brilliant librarians and brilliant young people.

This is enraging, it is not relaxing viewing. But it is wonderful.

Also interesting on something we’ve seen here in UK: one campaigning obsession (eg Covid masks) because against libraries. We’ve all seen people obsessed with one issue go absolutely doolally on ALL the issues.

I worked in a transport group, and can tell you the “mad obsessives” genuinely did effect change and improvement by knowing the subject and knowing the area so well, genuinely effective lobbyists.

Well, not sure when I’ve seen a better production of anything by RSC this century. Cyrano de Bergerac is a triumph, and not just for Adrian Lester. My hazy memory of the 1990 film meant I thought it a less substantial play than it is — I was left blubbering, then roaring during the curtain calls.

Lovely. He’s a wonderful stage actor I think.

I’m so glad I saw this, I’d completely missed this too. Thank you!

I liked ‘Jimeoin talked about varicose veins’ best, I think.

I don’t feel comfortable telling everyone what I think about this post, sadly.

Come on girls, we’ve been allowed to drive under certain conditions for SEVEN years now. What more do you want?

My photo dislike is a thoughtful person touching their glasses, thoughtfully. Sometimes it’s even wacky AND thoughtful.

The people insisting that people they don’t like can’t possibly like the same books or music they do are absolute babies.

Lovely, have an admin task to do today I’ve been putting off and this will be perfect accompaniment. Hope you feel better soon.
