Music, books, other stuff.

Idiots, the lot of you.
Watching The Muppet Show 2026.

Early days, but I think they may have remade the Muppet Show (complimentary).

I know this is not what social media is for, but I think the SNL UK cast looks pretty decent.

Won’t watch it, like.

I wonder if she'll mention the time she interviewed Andrew?

Enjoying* all the hilarious jokes about who or who isn’t in the Epstein files. Never grow tired of comedy speculation about the abuse of women and girls.

It's pretty grim innit. Lots of people feeling grim.

In that I try to - and have to - believe that small things matter, here's the first crocuses in my garden. It's rained every day for ever and been grim up here. But still these little survivors poke through.

Why do so many people on social media think we can only hold one thought in our heads at the same time? "Don't be distracted, Farage is still a fascist" etc etc etc

Yes, I'm evolved enough to despise him AND rich entitled scum enabling, facilitating and committing abuse because of love of money.

I am a fan of both Andy Miller the person and Andy Miller the character and I love the Inventories.

But this is probably my favourite so far. I even had a little weep. And a chuckle. It's really fabulous.

What else can you want from a bit of writing?
I went early or late with the Inventory on Blood & Chocolate by Elvis Costello and the Attractions, but it's Wednesday so here it is one last time. Read it via www.patreon.com/backlisted @backlisted.bsky.social for roughly a 45th of the cost of a ticket to his upcoming Radio Soul! 1977-86 tour.
Oh, Andy Miller, you astonish me. You've always said that it's all one song, and Inventory's evolution is proving you right.

It takes courage to ask questions, publicly, that you don't know the answer to. We're so lucky to be invited along, in almost real time, for this adventure.

A lot of “progressive” women on here blaming wives and girlfriends for men’s behaviour.

As per.

Just a reminder that although we have some nice dates in the diary I’m still looking for more gigs for Songdog in 2026 across the UK (and beyond). The lineup is cooking on all burners and it’s the best it’s ever been. The lines are OPEN, so don’t be shy, promoters, get in touch!

Poor old Peter Mandelson. How many times will he have to resign in disgrace over how many decades before posters spell his name correctly?

Went to a concert last night where one of the pieces was a premiere written by composer born in 2004.

I’m sorry, but one of the all-time Boring Composers in the History of Music is objectively funny to me.

It’s obviously wrong and he has no idea who he is, but…
Clearly a Morrissey fan.

Just been outside briefly in the storm to pick up my elderly neighbours’ bins and the content, littered up the street.

The film makers are going to be utterly furious that everyone is talking about the film, due on people’s television in a couple of weeks.

They simply didn’t want the publicity, which is why they didn’t unnecessarily give it a very small cinema run.

For those unfamiliar with Sepp Blatter, you have to be corrupt and bent beyond the laws of physics for him to legitimately occupy the moral high ground against you.

(Or, he’s had a back hander from a company that will make insane £ from cancelled flights, hotels and World Cup tickets)

Early days yet, I know but Drum has only sold 25 copies which is a bit of a reality check. I clearly need to up my promotional game so if anyone wants to invite me onto their podcast or do an interview or anything comedy related, you know where I am. Don't be shy.
