I watched Annie Hall again recently. Nobody else could have played that comedy foil quite like Diane Keaton did. I've always thought she was hugely underrated. A great actress has left the stage. "Why are the drapes open?" RIP

Damn, not Diane Keaton too. RIP to a wonderful actor. (You know, when I came home from Ken Market aged 18 with my men’s coats and waistcoats and big trousers, in my head it was her in Annie Hall I was channeling.)

Want me go round their gaff and shout at them? I’m scary in a scrap

There were none at ours either, but I managed to book an appointment at Tesco in Helston for next week. Cheaper than the pharmacy too.

Bumped into my youngest housemate, who made me laugh when she complained how old she felt, what with turning 19 soon and all.

Along the horizon there are glimmers of light, some are fishing boats, the ones lit up like Christmas trees are the tankers. And there are
little flickers that hug the rocks and you realise they’re not *on* the water, they’re in it, under the surface. Night divers or the souls of drowned sailors?

Last streaks of light, but better late than not at all. For some reason I was swept under by a great wave of melancholy earlier, and it completely paralysed me; I could do nothing but sit and snivel until it passed. I should have come out here, of course. The great blue saviour.

Luke Jerram's 'Gaia'. I saw that in Truro Cathedral one night in 2023 and found it quite hypnotic. His Mars arrives there on Monday so I’ll try to see that too.

Everything I’ve read about him suggests he’s a decent person. As well as being phenomenally hot.

Ah, the 119, I’ll bet.

October often seems to be disruptive for me. Left London for Cornwall Oct 2016. Moved into holiday park Oct 2017. Began renting house from mad landlady in Truro Oct 2018 to May 2019, when I got my flat. Notice to quit Oct 2022. Then Truro shared house and on to Falmouth Oct 2023. 7 moves in 7 years.

He is SO handsome. It shouldn’t be allowed.

I have to take antihistamine all year round now, because of all the different pollens (palm trees are particularly bad offenders).

I love black cats. We had two of them bitd. When my dog arrived they even formed a little gang. I never understand why people don’t like them.

What a lovely little dog

Well yes your yoga and pilates but nothing quite beats turning the soil over in mid-October on a sunny day while carefully redistributing the disturbed worms to a safe spot cos I'm a soft get. #physicalmeditation

Glad I spotted your post - I couldn’t find any local pharmacies offering the vaccine but then I remembered to check Tesco and they were doing it! So thanks for that

I was automatically offered the flu one as usual because of health conditions but this time not COVID. I’ve just booked myself in for one at a Tesco next Tuesday. Worth the expense, I think.

Been looking at private COVID vaccine options, as apparently my ongoing health problems don’t qualify me for the NHS one this year. £90-120, which is steep, but I’d rather that than take the risk of not having it.
