As much as I would like it to be true, I don't think this kind of transfer necessarily violates the NPT. Thanks AUKUS!

Russia reportedly supplied North Korea with nuclear submarine modules, including a reactor, potentially enabling Pyongyang to build nuclear subs

The transfer, possibly in exchange for North Korean troops in Ukraine, violates the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty euromaidanpress.com/2025/09/19/r...
Russia might have transferred nuclear submarine reactors to North Korea for US strike capability
Kim Jong Un inspected submarine construction in March while persistently requesting advanced fighter jets alongside nuclear technology.

Between the Georgia raid and the likely election of a far right-wing PM in Japan, Korea’s relations with each look shaky. But when the excrement eventually hits the fan, expect the usual suspects to blame it on ”Korea’s pro-China President” instead.

I’m happy to chalk this into the ” things that weren’t gonna happen aren’t gonna happen even more now” column

TL;DR of nukes at China's military parade yesterday:

🤔 DF-61 - new ICBM??
🕳️ DF-31BJ - silo loader?
✈️ air-launched ballistic missile?
🔺 entire nuclear triad displayed for first time

Read our @scientistsorg.bsky.social team's full analysis below:
Nuclear Weapons At China's 2025 Victory Day Parade - Federation of American Scientists
This buildup appears to contradict China's obligations under the nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty and could well stimulate nuclear buildups in the United States and India.

Tycker vi kan ta bort sociala medier helt och hållet och bara låta folk ta en fika med varann istället.

That's a wrap. Honestly, this was a pretty great outcome for Pres. Lee. Cooperation on North Korea. Jokes about traveling together to China. No naked demands. No mention of Yoon persecution. Lee's visit to Japan before D.C. was also a great move.

Q: Will Trump attend APEC, to be hosted in Korea. Trump: I'd like to. Says he is going to South Korea for trade meeting soon. (He clearly doesn't get that APEC is the trade meeting.)

Trump on South Korea's political situation, just hours before his meeting South Korean President Lee Jae Myung.

(Lee was elected after former President Yoon Suk Yeol was impeached and jailed following his short-lived attempt to impose martial law)

Not a surprising move, although one can wonder about how much it will help...

For some context, it might be worth checking out this paper we at @apln.network commissioned from Kim Jina, now second vice foreign minister of ROK, two years back.

Is he allowed to do this? A huge clunky building - a “ ball room” that dwarfs the White House. We don’t need it. It ruins the graceful beauty of the White house.

AI is deskilling our young people to the extent that they no longer have the ability, or at least resolve, to craft their own *texts.*

The widespread adoption of these technologies is actually a form of child abuse. We are systematically destroying human potential

Weeks earlier, when I’d messaged Alex, he had said that everyone he knew used ChatGPT in some fashion, but that he used it only for organizing his notes. In person, he admitted that this wasn’t remotely accurate. “Any type of writing in life, I use A.I.,” he said. He relied on Claude for research, DeepSeek for reasoning and explanation, and Gemini for image generation. ChatGPT served more general needs. “I need A.I. to text girls,” he joked, imagining an A.I.-enhanced version of Hinge. I asked if he had used A.I. when setting up our meeting. He laughed, and then replied, “Honestly, yeah. I’m not tryin’ to type all that. Could you tell?”
