Despite going to Catholic school and having Catholic friends, most of it was more foreign&cryptic to me than the Judaism I came in contact with from an early age.
People just expected me to know 🙄

I did a double take the other week when a woman walked by in a blue blouse that was the exact same shade of blue and horrible cut as a "pioneer blouse" from GDR youth paramilitary group. Gave me the creeps

Oh, thanks! I had been looking for sth that would fit my mop of hair and look adequate on my rather large head. Reminded me (vaguely) of Ukrainian headdresses, but now I have to look up Sami garments, thanks :)

The thing about that is that you can search/filter for it at hardware stores, but everyone has their own idea what constitutes "daylight" (obv, there is November daylight and there is May, + the latitudes...) But I'll get there.

But I needed my wife to explain to me that a few years ago in Germany they re-set the scale for energy efficiency. Because I was confused why all the lamps I saw seemed to have this low efficiency rating XD
