This is a good article but it also reads wrong to me. Millions of people have had to navigate “the psychological impact of having a machine looking at you all the time that’s devoted to killing you” over the last 15 years. US troops just aren’t used to facing it themselves; it was always others.

The study itself is fine, but considering it counted e-readers as “books” and not “screens,” maybe take the high level framing with a bit of salt.

That said, I’m on book 12 of CJ Cherryh’s “Foreigner” series and it’s fantastic.
