"Fundamentalist" is a bizarre word choice here.
prospect.org
The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) is divided between its realists like, Mamdani and AOC, and fundamentalists who disagree over whether or not the DSA should continue to run and win with the Democratic Party. From Harold Meyerson:

MAGA may continue after Trump but Miller's power will not. He will never he more than a hype man.

Miller is dangerous and evil, but his power is entirely dependent upon Donald Trump. He has zero rizz as the kids say.

Stalin was also dangerous and evil, but he was good at politics, administration, and was charismatic. Miller doesn't have any of those skills.

Your grandpa was a thief, lady. And not even one of the good kind.

Looting the house of a rich fascist, ok, fine, whatever. Looting the ruins of a museum 👎.

This is assuming this deal actually ends it, which is very much an open question.

No one who enabled the Gazan genocide to continue for years gets any credit or praise for ending it.

It's like when you tell a child to clean their room 10 times and they get it done three hours after the first time. Sorry, buddy, that doesn't warrant an extra cookie.

To use a booze analogy, this reminds me of the marketing of natural wine or the early days of the micro-distilling movement.

Consumer: This tastes like shit.
Marketer: We need to re-educate the palates of consumers.

The basic structure of so much commentary, some in the guise of academic study, reduces to:

(1) generative AI products are detrimental to the goals of education

(2) therefore, the goals of education must change.

Without the tacit axiom that AI has authority behind it, that just doesn’t follow.

"Before we were Antifa we were the Originals, but we had to change our name because someone was already using that name. It was the Regulars, then they changed their name back to The Regulars and we thought, well, we could go back to The Originals but what's the point?"

I came in second in the first bar trivia game tonight by wagering big, and came in first in the second game by wagering nothing. I'm not sure if that means anything.

FINAL: Detroit Tigers 9, Seattle Mariners 3 in Game 4 of the ALDS.

The Tigers' offense comes alive just in time, sending the series back to Seattle for a winner-take-all Game 5 on Friday, and their ace Tarik Skubal on the mound.
