Reshare: Even as TSR and D&D’s early periods receive the gold-standard treatment, there’s much more to the hobby than one game and one company. But are those histories actually important? What is at stake if we forget them?

Will try to get my notes on death houserules into a one-page handout, maybe making death less likely but really, just trying to make death more arcane and weird.

Okay, this worked really well last time! I need someone from Brazil who knows about the RPG scene (specifically Vampire/White Wolf) in the early 2000s. Anybody here who could answer a couple quick questions?
juddthelibrarian.bsky.social
That first question sucked and isn't what I wanted to ask at all.

Sorry about that.
juddthelibrarian.bsky.social
No, that question sucked. That isn't what I wanted to ask.

I wanted to ask about your take on BLM's use of questions.
juddthelibrarian.bsky.social
Curious on your perception of the fandom's reaction of BLM's technique of asking players questions and asking them to describe things.

Running Cairn this coming Monday.

Fascinated by the game's take on how characters grow by interacting with the strangeness of the world in fun ways.

It was a real pleasure to chat with @shannonappelcline.bsky.social about his upcoming new set of books.
"Appelcline: I was delighted to write about the original edition of Palace of the Silver Princess. This is one of the most legendary products ever published by TSR because the first edition of it was destroyed. They printed it, they gave out copies to the people at TSR, they got some out to distributors, and then — this is all hearsay, but that's part of what made it exciting, trying to figure out what happened — management, apparently, got a look at it and said, oh, this is terrible, we can't send it out. They went around, they collected the copies from everyone at TSR, they tried to get whatever copies that they'd sent out back. And then they had one person in charge of bringing them out to the landfill and watch as they were bulldozed under, so that no one else got copies of them."

PODCAST: Tighten that half-Windsor and double-check the spreadsheets: it's serious business on the latest episode of the Rascal Radio Hour.

Nah, just kidding. It's degenerate stuff like information design, oracles, and Thomas' One Piece fandom.

Every now and again, the universe drops an event that feels tailor-made for TTRPGs.
Meet 3I/ATLAS — an interstellar visitor with weird outgassing, a Sun-side blackout, and a trail of mysteries.

Read it before the invasion starts.

Hi, is there anybody here who is in/from Spain who could help me answer some questions about RPGs in the 90s?
juddthelibrarian.bsky.social
I've never heard of Trespasser. I'll have to check that out.

I didn't think it would be hard to give something shared in an osr game a character sheet.

Players could invest XP in it.
