Happiness has everything to do with expectations. If they're managed well, you get a smooth process for editors/production staff and a writer *thrilled* to be able to make the tiniest of tweaks not too late in the process.

True. "Closure" doesn't come close to capturing all that's needed. I feel the same way about "justice" for, say, family members of murdered people. The only real justice would be bringing the victim back to life. A perp in prison is a poor substitute for an alive and well loved one.
I've been writing about grammar and usage for decades, correcting misconceptions. There's so much misinformation about language. It causes so much confusion and anxiety. Ppl need to know the language is their friend and not a minefield. It's OK to dislike a usage, but ppl should know it's not wrong.
