The end of federal enforcement of special ed laws. Some states - including MN - will likely be ok. But a lot of disabled kids in a lot of states are going to lose the education that federal law and decades of jurisprudence say they are owed.

This book is titled “Disabling Intelligences” for many reasons. First, because so-called “AI” is built from historical commitments to the excision of disability from the classification of humanity.

And who is the author of this op-ed? The billionaire CEO of an asset management firm who helped author the compact.

I hope people start to see that the risk that is being injected into our financial sector is intended to drain everyone’s savings/retirement. It’s meant to destabilize generations to sway ppl into nihilistic acceptance of digital id’s and full corporate identities like meta.

There really needs to be a massive betting line on which bubble will crash first, crypto or AI.

Lucky for the billionaires who created the bubble, Trump installed the guy who started the run on SVB then wailed until he was bailed out, David Sacks, as his Crypto/AI Czar.

You may not hear much about it -- but the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) is staging a four day event on the national Mall in Washington, DC. I wrote a bit about it today in the context of wider NAR mobilizations in Brazil. @religiondispatches.org 🧵

We laugh at this shit -- I mean, how can you not? -- but it's serious: these guys want to infuse reactionary thinking into AI and then infuse AI into every nook & cranny of American life. They can't win the argument so they are trying to blunt-force their views onto us with money & power.

Today is a day when arts degrees are worthless, but the product of those degrees is so valuable it would kill an entire industry if they were made to pay for it.

My county had no problem approving the new jail no one wants and the new Google data center no one wants while also just this week codifying 1k foot setbacks for solar farm builds, to make it harder to build the things we actually want here

Gonna be thinking about this lede for a minute.
(RNS) — Last month, the Rev. David Black stood in front of a Chicago-area U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility and spread his arms wide. Adorned in all black and wearing a clerical collar, the pastor looked up at a group of masked, heavily armed ICE agents on the roof and began to pray.

“I invited them to repentance,” Black, a minister in the Presbyterian Church (USA), said in an interview. “I basically offered an altar call. I invited them to come and receive that salvation, and be part of the kingdom that is coming.”

But when Black began to lower his arms a few seconds later, the agents responded to his spiritual plea by firing pepper balls, or chemical agents that cause eye irritation and respiratory distress, video footage shows. One struck Black in the head, exploding into a puff of white pepper smoke and forcing him to his knees. Fellow demonstrators rushed to his aid, and as the pastor rubbed his face in pain, the agents continued to fire.

“We could hear them laughing,” Black said.

This little twerp, who’s been there a few months, axed two of the lions of WaPo??

Fisher is an investigative champion and had been at The Post for 39 years. Hoffman had been there for 42, and he won a Pulitzer LAST YEAR.

Last week, new WaPo opinion editor Adam O'Neal quietly carried out another purge of staffers, cutting editors and major names like Marc Fisher and David Hoffman, among others.

Meanwhile, he welcomed three conservatives to the section.
