What interests me about the “the lion does not concern himself” meme is the cracks it puts in the central fiction of the lies being told about Long COVID since 2022. Since that time, we’ve had two main narratives about Long COVID. The first, usually spewed on the right but too often adopted by the left as well, is that Long COVID is not real. It’s made up, it’s something lazy people use to stay in bed and get out of work, and/or it’s hysteria and conversion disorder.

But the second, more often left-wing narrative, is the one which is really punctured here. This is the narrative the left uses because it allows them to be “sympathetic” to Long COVID patients while refusing to mask or take any sort of preventive action. This is the idea that Long COVID is real, it exists, but only a certain kind of person gets it, and it’s a small minority of people. There’s something special about them, it must be genetic or something, and it doesn’t really affect most people.

I saw a Cringetober prompt list i’ve been trying to get inspired by and this one was for “old oc design”. I wanna do more but it’s been hard to get back into drawing! but i gotta!

OCs from a story i wrote when i was maybe 7 called Fire Star and Ice Star about two kitten sisters with fire and ice powers. And there was also one named Pumpkin Star with “pumpkin powers” (he could build walls of pumpkins for… defense?)

It doesn't always help, but sometimes tying long socks tightly around my feet (with the knot on the sole of my foot) helps with RLS. especially if I also have a weighted blanket

regrettably if you try to point this out online you'll get yelled out by 79208 journalists going OH SO YOU WANT JOURNALISTS TO STARVE??? even if you're, say, a journalist yourself, and point out that while there are clearly no easy answers, the status quo isn't exactly working for society

this is nothing to do with characters being hot/attractive or whatever, I mean they are stylized in a very amateurish way that looks bad in an artistic sense

it's not even just indie games, I feel like human characters in games (particularly ones that are supposed to be cute) lately often have very ugly/weird-looking faces and I'm not sure why it's so rare to be able to play as a character that has any visual appeal at all
