This is a good question and something that sounds fun to write about, so I'm going to do a thread and periodically add to it. There's a tendency to romanticize pre-Elon Twitter, and that goes for the bluecheck system as well. Before it came to mean "white nationalist with $8 or bot", it denoted a class of people the site actually cared about protecting, which tended to heavily include elite media dopes
Bluesky is definitely restoring the old Twitter definition of "blue check" as "legacy media dope whose understanding of the world froze the minute his salary hit six figures"

The Dems are far from perfect, but the vast majority of them seem to have the best interests of their constituents at heart, and they deserve support in an imperfect system. This cannot be said of the scum in the Rep party.
