Half the time when Leslie Lee would come on my podcast (or vise versa) we would disagree on whether the film, comic or tv show in question was good.
But his take was always eye opening and he would show me something I hadn’t perceived before. Most recently re the Batman Caped Crusader show.

My mom told her physical therapist she wears a mask because her husband and daughter are immunocompromised. The PT said she is too but isn't worried bc she knows if she dies she is going to heaven. Then her co-worker yelled, “Shut up Debbie you wear a seatbelt and take blood pressure meds” 👀

Getting a COVID shot used to be as easy as grabbing a coffee, but now it’s more like solving a government puzzle blindfolded. If you’re still confused about who can get what and where, you’re not alone—and this video spills the tea on why it’s all so messy.

Since we are talking about pies...

MR. FLIP (1909) is often listed as having the first cinematic pie in the face but I found evidence of pies being deployed as early as 1901.

Breathy dream pop, but fresh and interesting, with cool multi-tracked vocals. #TheTwen2ie5

I'll just squeak in on the HM list deadline - thanks everyone for making it so hard to narrow down!

Abraham, a physician who is not board certified in any specialty & has made a career as an extremely partisan politician, is now #2 at CDC.

Despite working full time in political office, he is one of the top prescribers of ivermectin & he oversaw the end of Louisiana’s public vaccination campaigns.
BREAKING via @jeremyfaust.bsky.social: The CDC's internal email server now lists Louisiana physician Ralph Lee Abraham, MD, as the agency's principal deputy director -- "an irresponsible choice," according to one public health expert.

So chuffed would be an understatement!
I was obsessed with this when it came out, so much so that my friends made fun of me for it.

“YOU WILL BE CHUFFED!”- a Kerrang or Metal Hammer review. which is how my husband first saw the word “chuffed” as a teen. He assumed it meant “blender setting🤘🏻”

It’s true. Only place in America Democrats ate shit that night—and they really did, it wasn’t close—was the place our state party chair calls home, and where the exact kind of Democrats he likes were running. Makes you think!
I'd just like to point out this is happening because MAGA pig Bruce Blakeman defied national trends and cruised to reelection thanks to the incompetence of New York/Nassau Democratic Party chair Jay Jacobs, who opposed Mamdani with far more vitriol than he opposed the Republicans
This rocks, whole communities are self-selecting themselves out of relevance because a nice man was democratically elected

The focus on bars and restaurants is always interesting, because those are so supremely optional activities anyway. If you’re broke you can’t go to restaurants either, but no one accuses you of being in a poverty cult. There’s a very middle school anxiety about someone refusing to fit in to it.

I’ve said this before, but Covid could be eradicated tomorrow and I still physically could not “go back to normal.” I couldn’t start running again at the gym, or do 14 hour days on set, or run around Disneyland anymore. Normal is gone to people with LC, that’s not a cult, that’s a disability.

Oh I see Zickgraf wrote the “Covid conscious people are crazy” article he’s been threatening. Happy Thanksgiving Ryan, this year thanks to long Covid-caused MCAS, my Thanksgiving feast will be a plain baked sweet potato. Hope yours is tinged with the seasoning of being a horrible person.
I don’t know, I thought after Long Covid effectively ended my chance at a directing career, ruined my health, my energy, my ability to eat a lot of foods, and my body, it would seem pretty obvious why I don’t want to get it again, even going so far as to sacrifice (the horror!) bars and restaurants.
