This is sadly pretty standard for gender clinics and is a big reason why many prioritise getting baseline levels for a lot of shit that doesn't affect dosing or if you can start- they want to be able to use it later in retrospective research.

that andrew wakefield isn’t sitting in a british prison and is still, to this day, inflicting harm on children represents a complete failure of our medical, science, and political classes.

btw we must make sure that hilary cass doesn’t escape justice. she has perpetrated a similar medical fraud.

Wakefield is no longer allowed to practice medicine in the U.K. and has since relocated to Texas, where he has repositioned himself as a medical martyr and "father of the anti-vaccine movement."

It's not that it's not transmisogyny, but where it comes from is interesting. I've watched multiple cis lesbian friends go through this journey around it as they reconcile the comphet violence they were raised with with the reality that a dick is not manhood.

I hate to say it but the majority of the country is not going to die on the hill of trans rights. We can’t protect ANY groups if we can’t win a national election, so purity tests only serve to make specific groups feel triumphant. That’s not “erasing” them; it’s long-horizon strategy.

This happens because transphobia is an institutional imperative and never considered a conflict of interest, or an impediment to providing trans people with care.

The status quo of transition care is trans people subjecting ourselves to the whims of bigots who want to humiliate and exploit us.
