Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie / Back to the Future would slay
Y’know when the characters in a movie go to see a movie and it feels really meta? Well, with an “Ultimate Double Feature,” we play the first movie up until the point when they enter a cinema to watch a different film… then we play that film… then we go back to the first film to finish that story.

1. DHS surges 3,000 officers to Minneapolis without doing anywhere near enough prep first.
2. Hundreds of habeas cases overwhelm local courts.
3. Dozens of DOJ lawyers quit in disgust/anger.
4. The DOJ brings in JAGs to cover.
5. A JAG was just held in contempt and fined $500/day for ICE's failures.

I think if you were a liberal German in the 30s-40s it would be very satisfying to see the biggest pieces of shit in your country who fucked your life for a decade get totally scotched by foreign militaries. "Leader and cabinet all dead in mass suicide as capitol is taken" heh heh nice

All that's missing is the broken glass
The Mexican restaurant in downtown Brainerd, Minn., that closed after an ICE raid last month is now up for sale.

El Potro closed after federal agents, assisted by Crow Wing County sheriff's deputies, detained four employees Jan. 26.

BTW I’ve been patrolling a LOT recently and south Minneapolis is super quiet ICE-wise. Does still seem to be a lot of agents in MN. I’ve heard from ICE sources that they’re basically skipping the city and focusing on the burbs, so I may have go all Uptown Foreign Legion and learn Columbia Heights

JUST IN: Federal prosecutors in Chicago move to dismiss another case tied to Operation Midway Blitz.

Assuming its’s granted, Jacqueline Guataquira would become the 17th of 32 known defendants cleared.

None of the 32 has been convicted.

Someone also poured gasoline at a small corner memorial for Alex Pretti in Whittier last night (I just checked the main memorial at 26th and Nicollet and it appears fine).
Last night, there was attempted arson at Renee Good’s memorial at 33rd and Portland with gasoline being poured on the fence, near the front yard of the house, and throughout the memorial. This is despicable. 1/

ProPublica published children's letters and drawings documenting their sadness and suffering at Dilley. And Dilley staff are now retaliating by confiscating kids' letters and drawings.

Anecdotally, my friends doing observation and legal work haven't seen a steep drop in ICE activity, but at the airport, the trends are looking pretty promising - over last five days, the average number of ICE detainees getting flown out is 8 per day.

So many confirmed ICE sightings across the Minneapolis suburbs today (and further out). Keep your buckle on folks, this terrible ride is still going.

Assuming every single ICE agent were deployed to do this, each agent would need to detain like 2,500 nonwhite voting adults for 14 straight hours
One of my biggest fears about the midterms is that ICE could flood the polls with agents who perform Kavanaugh Stops on every non-white person before they get a chance to cast a ballot, then detain them until voting is over. Which is not far-fetched at this point. www.huffpost.com/entry/ice-po...

The horror stories rolling in from Minnesota are just the tip of the iceberg. This 20-year-old, who's lawfully present in the country, was arrested for being Latino, then jailed in a filthy cell where he couldn't even sit down. 18 days of illegal detention. democracyforward.org/wp-content/u...

ICE agents are still out there this morning, photographing schools from unmarked vehicles and then quickly leaving after being confronted. Keep your heads up.

I know Minnesotans love to flaunt their various metrics of superiority over Wisconsin—number of lakes! GDP! Twin Cities vs. Milwaukee!—but Number 6 is the ‘90s Bulls, and Minnesota is Scottie Pippen. Hail to the king

I was looking for a co-op in New Orleans a few years ago and found just one. The cashier told me it was the only one in the city, and when I told him I was from Minneapolis he was like “oh my god, the co-op capital—we’re so jealous of you guys!”
Pretty cool that national places are delving into how Minneapolis is different. But they have really got to dig a little deeper. People know about the music scene, but no other city in the country had a worker co-op community over generations like Minneapolis.

No verified ICE sightings in Whittier/Uptown today, which caps a weekend of few to no sightings here either. Commuting and guard duty is still absolutely necessary; the low-intensity days are simply a welcome change.
A few ways we will know ICE is actually gone:

• Commuters no longer report regular verified ICE sightings
• Abduction reports dry up
• Hotel and car rentals end
• Non-ICE federal employees are brought back to the Whipple
