And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Minneapolis to be born?

So many confirmed ICE sightings across the Minneapolis suburbs today (and further out). Keep your buckle on folks, this terrible ride is still going.

Assuming every single ICE agent were deployed to do this, each agent would need to detain like 2,500 nonwhite voting adults for 14 straight hours
One of my biggest fears about the midterms is that ICE could flood the polls with agents who perform Kavanaugh Stops on every non-white person before they get a chance to cast a ballot, then detain them until voting is over. Which is not far-fetched at this point. www.huffpost.com/entry/ice-po...

The horror stories rolling in from Minnesota are just the tip of the iceberg. This 20-year-old, who's lawfully present in the country, was arrested for being Latino, then jailed in a filthy cell where he couldn't even sit down. 18 days of illegal detention. democracyforward.org/wp-content/u...

A man who’s been doing background checks for ICE is charged with being among many people snared in a prostitution sting in Bloomington.

ICE agents are still out there this morning, photographing schools from unmarked vehicles and then quickly leaving after being confronted. Keep your heads up.

I know Minnesotans love to flaunt their various metrics of superiority over Wisconsin—number of lakes! GDP! Twin Cities vs. Milwaukee!—but Number 6 is the ‘90s Bulls, and Minnesota is Scottie Pippen. Hail to the king

I was looking for a co-op in New Orleans a few years ago and found just one. The cashier told me it was the only one in the city, and when I told him I was from Minneapolis he was like “oh my god, the co-op capital—we’re so jealous of you guys!”
Pretty cool that national places are delving into how Minneapolis is different. But they have really got to dig a little deeper. People know about the music scene, but no other city in the country had a worker co-op community over generations like Minneapolis.

No verified ICE sightings in Whittier/Uptown today, which caps a weekend of few to no sightings here either. Commuting and guard duty is still absolutely necessary; the low-intensity days are simply a welcome change.
A few ways we will know ICE is actually gone:

• Commuters no longer report regular verified ICE sightings
• Abduction reports dry up
• Hotel and car rentals end
• Non-ICE federal employees are brought back to the Whipple

I went in blind to Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie (know nothing about the show) and wow. One of the funniest movies I’ve seen in years! And at least three times when I went… how the hell did they even film that?? Pure joyful movie magic.
Okay. This is very important. If you like to laugh, you have to go see NIRVANNA THE BAND THE SHOW THE MOVIE. I am floating

ICE is still active all across Minnesota, even parking at observers homes this morning. But we’ve been showing up all weekend with massive food drives, placing hearts where were abducted, at singing marches, and there’s another big protest at Jackson Square Park today at noon. Let’s keep showing up!

Unclear why this is reported like it’s new. The federal government has been seizing the assets of convicted Feeding Our Futures defendants for years.
The real estate to be seized includes a 6,000-square-foot single-family home in Plymouth with five bedrooms and five bathrooms valued at $1.3 million; a large property on Park Avenue in Minneapolis; and what appears to be a $3 million commercial property in Columbus, Ohio.

Just had a meeting with some commuters adjusting tactics, setting schedules, coordinating with other groups. Little discussion of ICE leaving as nobody believes them. Assuming there’s a whistle, Minnesota will be playing through it.

I am, by all accounts, a coward, an overthinker, and a waffler, and I don’t think I’ve ever had greater moral clarity about anything ever in my life. ICE is so absolutely morally repugnant that there is no way to live wirh yourself if you do nothing.

For the first time since Jan. 5, there were no ICE flights out of Minneapolis Friday, probably because of this ruling.

Got to have an impromptu celebration IRL tonight with @ottergoose.net and @jjindc.bsky.social🙏.
Incredibly powerful opinion chronicling the awfulness in Whipple and the ways it interfered with the right to counsel.

One key part of the ruling (that ICE will likely appeal ASAP); Judge Brasel bars ICE from transferring anyone out of Minnesota within 72 hours of arrest.

On Thanksgiving, the immigrant children held at the Dilley detention center gathered in the gym for what they thought was a holiday feast.

The kids salivated over a spread of turkey, sandwiches, pastries and pies, a family told me.

But the food wasn’t for detainees — it was for the staff.

ICE kidnapped a neighbor in Phillips today along with others in MN. They are still the same rogue, abhorrent, & illegitimate organization meant to terrorize & separate families.

As I said yesterday, I am still asking the community to remain cautious & vigilant. We still need help.

A few more data points: my sources tell me ICE is still staying at a hotel in Plymouth, but that they appear to have left a space in Bloomington they were using to stage staff and equipment.
ICE is still operating, for now - there was an abduction in the neighborhood earlier today and cars driving around and surveilling spots, which is often a precursor to abductions. And observers are still all over them, although it’s harder as they’ve gotten more undercover
