NIH is losing so may good people. First they were fired or RIFd or pressured to retire early.

Now they are leaving because “no longer lend our credibility to an organization that has lost its integrity.”

Proud to know these brave scientists!

The NIH has lost its scientific integrity. So we left
“We can no longer lend our credibility to an organization that has lost its integrity,” write four scientists and administrators who recently resigned from the NIH.

After the proposed budget cuts to science, the recently released Congressional appropriations bills mean that "Congress is really starting to push back" according to @alesszimm.bsky.social. I'm not sure I agree that "science is doing OK," but it's certainly a big step in the right direction.

13 million fewer Americans have taken the flu shot this season compared to last year.

RFK Jr. says it may be "better" if fewer children receive the flu vaccine
Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. claimed there is "no scientific evidence" the flu vaccine prevents hospitalizations or death in children, despite previous CDC guidance.

Is there a single day—1 single day—when RFK Jr does NOT do something to dismantle public health?

This one is exceptionally grim—IMHO, the USPSTF is world-leading

As Dr Caroll says, if you ever got a free mammogram, colonoscopy, or HIV test, you can thank the USPSTF

Marty Makary made $130,000 from an ophthalmic pharmaceuticals company in the two years before assuming office.

Today, it's competitors are running into delays and obstacles at the FDA.

Is there a connection?

My latest for SBM.

The leading cause of death by far among ICE officers is COVID-19.
How dangerous is it really to work for ICE?
According to ICE’s own data, none of its officers have been killed by an immigrant in the agency’s history.

IMO, the Guardian's GLP1 article (but not Prof Schofield's response) was about as responsible as their editorial decision to platform Covid minimisers like Balloux during the initial phase of the ongoing Covid pandemic.

Overall, the reviews of my book Misguided have been pretty positive, which has been rewarding! One criticism I saw was that I cited too many studies, which is probably fair. I was writing a book about why we believe misinformation and wanted to be thorough, so I included a lot of research.

One of the core purposes of right-wing media is to rewrite your memory and reprogram your moral response to an event you saw with your own eyes. George Floyd died of a heart attack. Jan 6 was a peaceful picnic. This process has already begun
THERE IS VIDEO

I really do not want to recommend to everyone a video of a person being shot but there is video from multiple angles

why not cut the crap and just publish "this paper supports random state murder, it makes us feel good, kill kill kill"? same exact meaning, less embarrassing
