In general the tendency of anthologists to reach for anything speculative or even vaguely macabre to fill out horror collections has some funny results. Like, if you look for Saki's Laura on Youtube (a story about when your friend dies and keeps reincarnating into otters to bother you),you get this

The first several tales are huge disappointments. Some stories I might categorize as "suspense", some that have a supernatural element, but none which deserve to be called "horror"

Huge pet peeve is an anthology that advertises itself as HORROR but does not deliver the goods. I found one called Lighthouse Horrors, I looked at the TOC, it's got "The Woman at Seven Brothers", "The Fog Horn", "Three Skeleton Key", stories which I enjoy and endorse, along with a lot of unknowns

Incredibly disappointed to learn that lighthouses are mostly automated now. Every lighthouse should have a keeper who does the work manually. Yes you run the risk of him going mad or drinking himself into a stupor and forgetting to light the lamp, but it's the principle of the thing, dammit
