How many members in this micro nation?

Just so I can understand if 2 votes is a lot or not

In Australia we have Liberal Party, and they're exactly as their name suggests, liberals. And as such they're our dominant right wing party.

The other dominant party is centre-left, with several minor (big and small) parties across the spectrum.

That's what America needs; political diversity

There is no left wing party because the Democrats are liberals, which is a right wing ideology

Oh no, I don't dislike his films (except maybe Temple of Doom), they're just not as special (to me) as most people seem to think

Suffering is sadly normal and necessary.

But not in the way anyone ever thinks

The Federation treated the Cardassian Border Wars as mere skirmishes, but not necessarily the Cardassians themselves, and with the development of the Galor Class (which was after the war IIRC) they became much more of a concern, given that cladd could almost match up to a Galaxy Class

persecuting minority groups who they imagine are poisoning society is an inherent part of the ideology, they need it, even if they were handed an ethnically 'cleansed' fascist state it would collapse in a witch-hunt for secret jews and suspected homosexuals and insufficiently committed fascists

To be fair, the narrative does seem to paint it as a minor concern to the Federation who saw it as little more than border skirmishes. Which is what makes the very real war experiences of O'Brien & Maxwell stand out; the rest of SF is "why are you over-reacting so much? It was just a few skirmishes"

I have a rather more negative opinion of Spielberg, and find most of his work to be middling (directorially speaking) at best, with some notable exceptions.

A pretty extremely contrarian opinion compared to pretty much everyone else, I am acutely aware.

On this day in 1654 a gunpowder store with 90.000 pounds of powder exploded in the Dutch city of Delft.
Over 500 houses were demolished, thousands were injured and at least 100 people died, although that number was likely much higher.

I'm not normally one to follow motorsports, but I've always liked the idea of it. Even so I don't normally keep track of any of the goings on... But today's Bathurst 1000 was so insane as to reach my normally inattentive ears. So that's something.

² the audience willing to pay for access is small AND shrinking. Increases in rent seeking type funding and an increase in wage theft, price gouging, inflation and general cost of living pressures limits audience growth, and therefore limits site and scope for the news magazine company

¹ can't widely disseminate the news if you purposely limit your audience

News magazine type websites expecting its audience to pay for access to its reporting and opinions seems both antithetical to the concept of reporting¹, and unsustainable as a long term funding solution².
