The is extremely funny because you can tell by the cross on that book that it isn't a Bible — it's a Book of Common Prayer, the official prayer book for the Episcopal Church.

A mom in Houston reported her 15-year-old son with autism missing. She spent 6 days terrified, searching for him. The whole time, Houston police knew exactly where he was since they helped ICE place him in a refugee facility.

This is beyond cruel.

I haven’t seen this reported anywhere yet and I honestly haven’t had time to fully report it out myself but Patel was brought in about three months ago to run the NYC ICE field office with a mandate to increase arrests

"She wants to grab him," Ricky Patel said before he had had any exchange w/Ras Baraka. Even after Baraka left the facility, Patel said, "I’m going to place the Mayor in handcuffs. We are arresting the Mayor, per the Deputy Attorney General of the United States."

Wow, wow, wow. This has always been legally possible but the law has virtually never been enforced — and now this is the SECOND case I've heard of in the last month (first involving a person with a green card) of a noncitizen being charged for failure to carry their papers.

She's Filipino, so I recently showed her a funny Instagram video about how to make Filipino fruit salad that opens with "today I show you how to make diabetes". At the end of our last session, I said, "don't get diabetes!" and she laughed.

1) little things still matter
2) the power of a solid meal, a big glass of water, and a good night's sleep
3) remembering how much words of encouragement or a compliment meant after a tough day
4) action is the enemy of despair
5) I can do things through spite

NEW: There’s a disaster unfolding in Alaska right now. And no major network is covering it.

The remnants of Typhoon Halong battered western Alaska overnight. Homes, with people in them, have literally been swept into the Bering Strait.

At least 20 are missing. No comment from any federal agency.
