The ECHR guarantees the right to life and a fair trial. It protects freedom of speech. It prohibits torture, slavery, and discrimination. Reform want to get rid of it. Relieved that the @libdems.org.uk protected it in parliament yesterday.
Liberal Democrat MPs just defeated Nigel Farage’s Bill in Parliament to tear up people’s rights and withdraw from the ECHR.

Farage wants to do away with the Britain Churchill built and turn it into Trump's America. We won't let him.
Our high streets are the heart of our communities, but needs have changed. I’m chairing the Lib Dem group on High Streets & Town Centres to make them inclusive, thriving & sustainable.

Our paper got great feedback at conference. Please share your thoughts!

The community in St Margaret’s got together for some fun events today to support the Moormead Pavilion. Moormead Park is like our communal garden and we need toilets and space for sports teams and schools that use the space. Thanks to @munirawilson.bsky.social for joining.
For one special day, Saturday 13 Sep, Richmond’s High Street becomes a festival of creativity: street performances of Alice in Wonderland by Orange Tree Theatre, live music, skateable art, giant puppets, workshops, outdoor dining, markets & street food. Join the fun!

Today is the FINAL day to object to the damaging #TDRA plans.

These plans threaten our river’s biodiversity and better alternatives haven’t even been properly considered.

If you object, email your objection to [email protected] (include your name + postcode).

I worked with Janet at the DfE - she was my fellow policy adviser (supporting Lib Dem ministers). She was brilliant and cares more about local government than anyone I've ever met so if you happen to live in her ward do vote for her.
Proud to join friends from across London in West Hampstead on Saturday to support the brilliant Janet Grauberg in the by-election happening on 28th August.

…a Lab Cllr defected to the Cons, then resigned after being filmed abusing a local shopkeeper…no wonder residents were behind Janet to win!
“This is not just happening somewhere else” In Richmond, we’re working to end violence against women and girls. And it starts with calling it out. Thanks to everyone who joined the #WhiteRibbon walk with Kingston to drive awareness of violence against women & girls.

Good to see the Mayor finally recognise this as the right thing to do for Londoners whose livelihoods have been put on hold, and lives thrown into chaos.

And a big win for the London Liberal Democrats on the GLA who have kept up the fight on this.

Finally. This will make such a difference to the children who really need it. Well done to @munirawilson.bsky.social and all @libdems.org.uk who kept fighting for this to happen.
🚨BREAKING: Government backs Lib Dem call to expand Free School Meals!

The Government has finally listened to calls to expand free school meals to all children on universal credit, a longstanding Liberal Democrat policy.
We stand unified against #VAWG. For #IWD2025 @LBRUT held a White Ribbon Walk with inspiring words from Gareth Roberts @munirawilson.bsky.social & Prof Mellins (St Mary’s Uni) Thanks to Bu’sen & Hampton & Richmond FC for tackling harmful attitudes & @londonfire.bsky.social for cheering #WhiteRibbon
International Women’s Day is a time to celebrate progress, but also to reflect on how we can make women safer and amplify their voices. Together, we can take action to end violence against women and girls. #vawg #whiteribbon #accelerateaction
International Women’s Day celebrates success but also recognises that to achieve real gender equality we must take action together.

Women’s safety is not just a women’s issue—it’s everyone’s responsibility. Tomorrow we walk to stop violence against women and girls. Please join us. #accelerateaction
Join us on 8th March, International Women’s Day, for our White Ribbon Walk to stand against violence against women and girls (VAWG). Let’s walk together for change, for safety, and for a future free from violence. Be the change we need. #WhiteRibbonWalk #IWD2025 #EndVAWG Details ⬇️

Definitely worth a read to grasp the sheer scale and danger of Musk’s influence. It’s alarming how an unelected individual can gain such power over institutions that should be better protected from outside control.
Great to partner with the RFU and Met Police on our @whiteribbonuk.bsky.social work. Standing up, speaking out, and showing that working together we can change the culture that lets violence against women and girls happen. We all need to call it out and stop #vawg
This is such a pity. I understand the owners are doing it as part of the development but I really hope that they make sure it remains free and available to us public.
The Kew Banksy is being removed -how sad.
A third runway at Heathrow would worsen air quality and noise pollution for thousands in London - while increasing carbon emissions globally. @teamlabouruk.bsky.social should prioritise sustainable infrastructure projects that boost the economy without harming the planet youtube.com/watch?v=jsnV...

A third runway at Heathrow would be bad for the environment, bad for local communities & bad for the UK’s ambitious climate goals. I’ve joined four Lib Dem colleagues to write to Transport Secretary @heidialexander.bsky.social asking the Gvt to reject these proposals once and for all.
We cannot change the past or undo the atrocities of the Holocaust, but we must learn from it. Survivors warn how it crept up—discrimination, powerful rhetoric, dehumanisation, then murder. Never forget, always act. #NeverAgain #HolocaustMemorialDay #WeRemember
Great speaking to #Alperton residents today! It’s clear Charlie Clinton is needed to tackle fly-tipping like this and ensure the money raised from new developments funds proper infrastructure for locals. Vote @libdems.org.uk on 18 Feb to make it happen!
Over 2,100 locals petitioned @london.gov.uk via Gareth Roberts AM to improve safety for pedestrians and cyclists at the St Margaret’s Rd roundabout on A316. This video highlights the need for longer crossing times and stronger barriers due to past accidents. @transportforlondon.bsky.social must act
