Liberal Democrat MP for Sutton and Cheam, frontbench spokesperson for London and Councillor for Sutton West and East Cheam Ward.
This morning I challenged the Govt to clarify what their changes to settlement requirements mean for BNO holders.

It would be utterly unfair to move the goalposts for Hong Kongers who give back so much to the communities that welcomed them.

By approving a Chinese super-embassy, the Government is actively betraying our Hong Kong communities in London - many of whom will now be fearful about what their future holds.

The Government must immediately halt this application.

So many tradespeople across Sutton tell me they are sick and tired of tool thefts going unsolved.

The police and trading standards need the resources and power to clamp down on it - or else livelihoods will continue to be hit over and over again, and more thieves will get away with it.

A real honour and a pleasure to celebrate Sutton's Jamie MacGregor and his fantastic hard work with Green Earth Gardens Ltd at last night's Checkatrade Awards. A deserved winner of Landscaper of the Year!

This isn't just Ed’s story. It's the story of millions, and that's who the Liberal Democrats will continue to fight for.

BREAKING ‼️
The Govt has just confirmed that Hong Kongers with a BNO passport will still qualify for settlement after 5 years.
I know how much this will mean to so many people - and will be received with a huge sigh of relief.
Proud that our campaign has paid off and the Govt has listened to us!

There's just a week to go until the budget - so there's still time for the Chancellor to listen to our calls for a 5% VAT cut for Hospitality and to save households £270 on their energy bills.

GB News broadcasted a package last week on analysis of people with "foreign sounding" names.

Peddling unverified and racist statistics on national TV is dangerous and we must call it out.

The Liberal Democrats are calling on Ofcom to investigate and take swift action.

Today's news simply underscores that we should not, cannot, must not allow a new Chinese "super embassy" here in London.

It's not just MPs who are targeted for surveillance, but Hong Kongers on our own streets too. We must take transnational repression seriously.

I've been out canvassing quite a lot in London lately. Labour's vote has absolutely evaporated.... it is quite extraordinary to go to places where Labour were on 50-60% of the vote at the last locals and find nobody, or virtually nobody, supporting them.

The Cost of Living crisis is at the root of so many of our problems in this country.

The Lib Dems have a plan to put £270 back in your pocket over the next 18 months.

The Chancellor's on the lookout for fresh ideas to turn things around... we'd be very glad for her to steal it from us!

This is a rare bit of good news for commuters in our corner of London, and comes after repeated calls by myself for residents to see the benefits of rail nationalisation on their daily commute.

The fight goes on to boost service across the borough!

Hospitality is so much more than an industry - it's a critical part of the character of all of our communities. Slashing VAT for them would be a shot in the arm in these difficult times - for the businesses and customers alike.

The Chancellor must do so in the budget.

Phasing out concessions for electric vehicles makes no sense at all at a time when we still need to drive forward the transition to net zero

We shouldn’t be recouping costs by penalising those individuals and businesses who are doing their bit by going electric.
