Not here for pointless arguments, and if you want that my method is block early and without regret. Living the dream in the deep south Pacific. Probably lots of dog photos, beach and bush. Failing at trying to avoid politics. I make a lot of typos.

AD(H)&D

A cartoon I sketched out but never finished.
A wizard sits on a therapist's couch. He looks anxious and says "I know I should slay the dragon. I want to slay the dragon. But somehow I never do slay the dragon." The caption says "AD(H)&D".

This is a very common hazard on NZ westcoast ironsand beaches.

How many of them drive into curbs as well?

Also, this guy is promising to be a one term mayor, so will screw everything up and then not be around long enough to suffer the consequences.

Theres still a lot of work going on in AoNZ either planning or actually building data centers and i am certain people are going to get burned when the bullshit bubble pops.
edzitron.com
It currently takes 2.5+ years and $32.5bn+ a gigawatt of data center development and OpenAI says 10GW of Broadcom chips will be deployed by 2030.

Blandly repeating this stuff is failing readers. Call it what it is: nonsense
OpenAI and Broadcom AVGO 9.96%increase; green up pointing triangle are working together to develop and deploy 10 gigawatts of custom AI chips and computing systems over the next four years, a high-profile partnership aimed at satisfying some of the startup’s immense computing needs.

OpenAI plans to design its own graphics processing units, or GPUs, which will allow it to integrate what it has learned from developing powerful artificial-intellligence models into the hardware that underpins future systems. As part of the agreement announced Monday, the chips will be co-developed by OpenAI and Broadcom and deployed by the chip company starting in the second half of next year.

I've put a few new drawings up at
www.tomgauld.com/art-for-sale

There are also badges, prints and a zine at
www.tomgauld.com/shop
A pen and ink drawing.
Panel One:
A woman sits in a chair reading happily in a book-filled room.
 A voice offstage says
"You can't survive on books alone"
The woman replies
"Maybe I can!"

Panel Two:
"How?" asks the voice
"I don't know yet, but I'm sure the answer will be in one of my books." Says the woman

Panel Three:
Caption: However
The book is filled with yet more books.
A skull sits on the chair. It says
"I regret nothing!"

Photos coming out of Western AK are devastating.

Hardest hit are indigenous villages off road system, many miles by air from supplies. Most built on river deltas w/ no high ground to which to escape.

Cuts to NASA/NOAA mean worse weather data. Cuts to EPA mean no grants for erosion control. Etc.

These are mostly indigenous communities in Alaska that have been slammed by the storm.

The local manager of a small airline fleet says he is the only one doing evacuations right now!

Defund FEMA and people are abandoned. Defund public media and no-one knows.

FYI, today is Indigenous Peoples Day.
Homes flooded in Kipnuk Flooding seen with water up to the crash barriers of local roads Sheds and debris lie scattered in the storm A small blue house has been blown onto its roof

Less billionaires will mean a fairer, more just society, less drug abuse, less crime, and a healthier planet.

The ROI for humanity from a war on billionaires, will be much higher than a futile war on drugs.

And everyone knows it.

Sirius season is almost here! Or really, it's already started for early morning observers. Here's a shot I captured at 4.30am on 12 October from North Yorkshire, UK 😀 #Astronomy #Astrophotography #SciArt #PhotoHour
A swirl of multi-coloured lines against a dark background. These are the colours produced by light from the bright star Sirius passing through our turbulent atmosphere. Moving the camera a little while taking a long exposure of Sirius helps to bring out the rainbow of colours. In effect, this technique 'freezes' the twinkling of Sirius to show all the colours on display. It is a fairly easy thing to do with basic camera equipment, that produces beautiful results.

I think they also could have chosen a better story for season 2.

I do hope all this adulation doesn’t alter President Trump’s gracious and unassuming character…

Can you imagine what he is going to bore them with? How much of it will make sense?

They will realise exactly how diminished he is and how easy he is to use.
