Very excited to share that my second dissertation article has been published in 𝘍𝘦𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘵 𝘗𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘰𝘴𝘰𝘱𝘩𝘺 𝘘𝘶𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘭𝘺!
💫🥳🎉

It focuses on epistemic injustice and recognition in the context of endometriosis (endo), a gendered chronic illness affecting millions worldwide.

New paper on the problems with the Cass review.

"How did the Cass review come to be so terrible, and why was it readily accepted by so many people who claim to be evidence-based?

There are lots of different answers in the piece, but the underlying issue is simply bias."

Experimenting with a new concept using @queermedieval.bsky.social’s Portland Frog woodcut. Embracing goofiness as protest.
A poster in green ink on off white paper. In the center is a woodcut style illustration of a protester wearing an inflatable frog costume standing up against two ICE agents. The text above and below reads:

It's not called "The Daily Fail" for nothing!

It was just the first report I saw, but they have even changed the headline and text now.

Fascinating to see Financial Times turn to affect and analyze their own "macro mood," or average weekly sentiment since 1982.

They link the fact that "bad is stronger than good" to more clicks on negative headlines. But also show that our mood has not recovered from the financial crisis of 2007-8.

Male solidarity could drive them away from Trump.

Joe Rogan: "There’s two things that are insane... One is the targeting of migrant workers — not cartel members, not gang members, not drug dealers — just construction workers. Showing up at construction sites, raiding them. Gardeners. Like, really?"

“I voted for none of this."

Prominent influencers, including Theo Von, Joe Rogan, and Andrew Schulz, are starting to distance themselves from the president they helped propel to the White House.

Very cool! Researchers from the US and Sweden used CRISPR technology to identify a crucial protein, LRP8, that the TBE virus requires to enter the central nervous system.

"LRP8's role as a TBEV receptor has implications for TBEV neuropathogenesis and the development of antiviral countermeasures."

New study reveals molecular basis of brain fog.

"The systemic increase in AMPARs provides a direct biological explanation for the cognitive symptoms, highlighting a target for potential treatments. For example, drugs that suppress AMPAR activity could be a viable approach to mitigate brain fog."
