The purview of representative politics is to reflect the public will on how wealth redistribution takes form.

Sometimes the tax code redistributes down, and sometimes up.

Dems ran away from this truth under Reagan. The GOP ran away from it under Trump.

Yes your taxes should support disabled people.

They should support homeless people.

They should support those living in poverty, children and the elderly.

This is literally the purpose of taxes, and I would far rather support those who need it than continue to enrich the elite.

OTOH, Putin has a robust mafia state in place where the oligarchs are "holding the bosses' money" and he can end any one of them with a phone call. There has to be a cabal in place to get rid of him.
