"People populate the darkness; with ghosts, with gods, with electrons, with tales..."

Possible causes of your problems. It’s a diagram that (sadly) still seems relevant in 2025, so reposting a year and a bit on.
Diagram titled 'Possible causes of your problems'. On the left hand side, subtitled 'Yes': Funding removed from local councils, growing gap between rich and poor, multinational companies not paying their taxes, lack of new affordable housing, government not investing sufficiently in schools and healthcare. On the right hand side, subtitled 'No': Picture of small boat, with arrow; 'People fleeing horrific situations that you and I can't imagine'.

Kako se radilo u firmi Digitron Buje. Spašena arhiva i znam da će ono uredsko piskaralo @kile100.bsky.social već dojuriti da zabije nosište u papire.

Kill the old me now

If anyone needs me I will be in the museum, lying down next to the bog bodies.
Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing?
2? Questions
I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up.
Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?

‘Seasonal Nature of Existence

We are creatures of cycles and moods, and we forget that about ourselves.
We’re constantly mobile, we change.

There’s beauty in that, too.’ 🖤

So say the unsayable
Say the most human of things
And if everything is temporary
I will bear the unbearable
Terrible triteness of being

A THERAPEUTIC NOVEL
A paragraph of white text on a dark gray background describing the confusion caused by mixed emotional signals from others—people who say “I love you” but act unkindly, or claim to desire or value us while causing emotional harm.

About today

Walk away.

True power shows in what you refuse to do.
A minimalist black background with white text reading “YOUR DAY AT A GLANCE” at the top and “Do not respond to attacks.” in large serif font below.

Something I've been thinking about lot about lately:

Reading Comprehension Is Not A ‘Skill’

Reading comprehension requires knowing a little (and sometimes a lot) about the topic you’re reading about.

Reading Comprehension Is Not A ‘Skill’
By limiting students' reading to the topics and interests they already possessed, we imposed a form of illiteracy on them.

Evo, rasplakao me. 😭

To znači imati hrabrosti.

About today

Just breathe, just breathe
White text on a black background reads: “YOUR DAY AT A GLANCE” at the top in small capital letters, followed by a larger message: “You are here, breathing, and that’s everything.”

"After decades of loneliness and depression, Cathleen Caffrey had come to think of herself as a bad person." 😭

One of the benefits of my official dx was exactly this:

No matter how much the men and jealous women in my life tried to portray me as 'not a lovable person', I’m not a bad person.

Nothing so important as an ethic is ever written…
It evolves in the minds of a thinking community.

"Ništa tako važno kao etika ne pojavljuje se
zapisano, ona se razvija u umu zajednice mislećih ljudi."

Iznova mi se pokazalo da je potpuni prelazak na digitalne knjige koliko bolan, toliko i praktičan:

Jer nekome sam posudila svoju tiskanu kopiju Ljetopisa pješčanog okruga i sada kada mi treba malo Leopolda, na suhom sam. Grrrrrr.

(Naravno da nisam zapisala kome sam posudila.)

Teaching is the only job where you nick things from home to take into work rather than the other way around. #EduSky

In related news I'm taking one of my giant pumpkins into preschool next week. 😂🌱
3 giant vif d'etampes pumpkins (very Cinderella style).

Nobody plays you a song they love or sends you a playlist and then says, get back to me with meanings of all of these songs."
