I genuinely think that AI needs to be considered under safeguarding legislation. We would never allow a child to be left alone with a random adult stranger so why would we allow them to be left alone with an AI?! Tech companies need to be held fully to account for this.

Additionally, OpenAI argues its not liable because Raine, by using ChatGPT for self-harm, broke its terms of service

Good morning, while everyone is waiting for the budget to be announced it’s a good time to say that immigration is a source of prosperity for the UK and painting Britain as a hostile state is sabotaging the country. Thanks!

Criminal that the DfE is blithely encouraging use of these technologies in schools without seriously considering safeguards.

Aside from all the other concerns, it's noticeable how the government is still ignoring the theft of intellectual property from its own citizens by AI companies in favour of encouraging external investment from big tech.

Labour’s awful migrant policies are helping pave the way for the racist far right. And they are also building a gold-plated shed at the end of that road - full of tools for a far right Govt to oppress us all.

All AI toys should be banned imho and especially anything that children might find cute or that they be encouraged to anthropomorphisise. Way too much potential for psychological damage.

I think the national minimum wage is a great thing but every time they increase it without increasing the early years entitlement funding by the same % it's basically a funding cut for early years settings. 😒

one of the coolest things about ChatGPT is how you can actually just never use it. you can fill your whole entire life with simply not once using it. it's incredible.

AI really is making some previously useful things unusable. Google search is basically worthless now. I had to send an email from an outlook express account today and oh my word wtf were they thinking with 'co-pilot'?

Google at its peak was basically the best information retrieval system in human history and they and every competitor decided going from there to “you didn’t want answers you wanted half-assed auto-complete 80%-wrong hallucinations” in a few years was the right idea

'Banter' has always very obviously been a synonym for excusing bigotry of one kind or another. Interestingly I don't think I've ever heard a woman using that word.
Bossy headline from The Times letting Farage insist his “Hitler was right” racism was just ‘banter’.
If that were true, his politics now would be different and he’d apologise. He’s defensive because this is what he is and always has been and he’s angry with us for knowing that and for minding.

The very first step for a government on this should be removing official accounts from these toxic social media sites. Otherwise you're basically encouraging people to use them.

Did you ever racially abuse fellow pupils?

It was years ago.

Did you ever racially abuse fellow pupils?

Not in a hurtful way.

Did you ever racially abuse fellow pupils?

Not with intent.

Did you ever racially abuse fellow pupils?

Not genuine abuse.

Three reasons to avoid cutting back dead stems and seed heads this winter:
🐞 Hollow stems provide homes for hibernating insects, such as lacewings and ladybirds
🌻 Birds feed on seed heads like teasels, sunflowers and thistles
❄️ They look good when dusted with frost or snow!
