DHS default is to lie about every encounter. Which is why they’re trying to criminalize recording them.
CHICAGO (WGN) - A WGN creative services department employee was detained by two
Border Patrol officers and later released after federal agents swarmed a busy intersection on Chicago's North Side Friday morning, at the height of rush hour.
WGN is not naming the employee, as station policy requires blurring faces and not identifying those who have not been charged with a crime.
Witnesses on site who captured the incident on video spoke to WGN about the moments leading up to the staffer's detainment. Thomas added that when he made his way down to the scene, around 8:30 Friday morning, he realized there was another person already detained inside the minivan being used by United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents.
"I didn't get his name, although I asked for his name," Thomas said. "He didn't speak very good English. They claimed that the WGN employee was obstructing justice, even though she was, like all of us, just standing there, taking video.'

"Coming Soon: Emptiness" gives a very brief snapshot of apocalyptic happenings and gets out very quickly. It reminds me of The Sandman's "24 hours" story, this open window to a world gone to hell but not the full picture of what's gone wrong.

I lived in metro St Lou( usually the number one murder capital of the US) for a long time, you're pretty safe if you stick to Soulard, the Hill, Laclede's Landing, & Washington Ave - basically where the bars & clubs are in town. Avoid the North Side entirely & the residential part of the South Side.

Gordo by Gus Arriola, January 18 1977:
Dog: Is it true you nippers hum because you don't know the words?
hummingbird: That soothing susurrus, that pleasing purl that tickles your tympanum, tige, is produced by our fuel-injected overhead cam, reciprocating wingies, perpetually tuned up!
Dog: And no 55 mile per nonsense!

The Trump administration’s cartoonish graft presents a unique opportunity for a populist anti-corruption platform.

But for the Democrats to pull it off, they’d have to repudiate corruption within their own party first.

From one iconic design to another: Tron (1982) & Akira (1988)

Director and writer Katsuhiro Ōtomo: “In terms of Kaneda's bike in Akira, the initial inspiration was the lightcycles from Tron designed by Syd Mead. However, they are wide, so I halved them and used that as an initial basis.”
