Layout from two pages on Darkhawk. I picked up from Joe Kubert laying out two pages at once to get the flow from Danny Fingeroth's plot. This was back when I'd take this into my old art-o-graph and project it down and tighten the pencils from this. Real Old School, son.

Pencils from DH in the Natural History Museum in NYC. I remember making the trip to shoot ref and trying to stage my shots to use later in my art-o-graph.

My creative process on Judge Parker has changed from the first year on the strip. I came across this layout for this Sunday. I was still feeling my way along the strip and trying to get a feel for the characters-- I never do layouts now, I just wing it as it saves time and keeps it more organic.

While going through the piles I came across this old Superman Adventures cover sketch from around 2000 or so. Another that on the “breaking the chains” cover. Wonder if I can get a million bucks for this cover 😂

10 years ago today the last Apartment 3G You can still see the strip on Comics Kingdom Classics. One of the great soap opera strips, Kotzky was a master. The end was a real decline as Frank Bolle was past his prime. Mary Worth, Rex Morgan and good old Judge Parker still carry the torch
