The very existence (let alone the wording) of this consultation is an outrage, but please fill it in anyway, it doesn't take long.
PS. Not too late to tell the government what you think about their proposed changes to Indefinite Leave to Remain - the public consultation is open until 12th Feb.

The Prime Minister says he changed the Labour Party.

He's right. He changed it from a party of principle, workers and peace, to a party of patronage, the establishment and war.

Poverty, corruption and complicity in genocide. That will be his government's legacy.

Songs in good musicals don't stop the story, they move it forward: they tell us about the characters, show them making a decision, depict them falling in love, etc.

Fights in a superhero comic should have the same function. If they don't progress the story in some way, they're redundant. 3/3

The outcome is never in doubt and the fight has nothing to do with the actual story - it's immediately forgotten.

So why have it at all? Usually because there is nothing visually exciting in the rest of the issue. 2/3

Modern superhero comics often open with the "Fake Fight"; it starts in the middle of the scrap. The hero and a third-rate villain trade a few punches for 3-4 pages before the villain is beaten... 1/3

Sorkin's cameo in 30 Rock is fab.

I love those kind of movies too.

Thank you! I shall go in search of it.

The tone of the series felt ridiculous to me. Sorkin's previous show was "We must save Western civilisation", and this one was "We must save Saturday Night Live". And it was equally serious!

Idea for democracy: anyone running for public office would be legally required to take part in public debates.
Reform politicians are happy to throw insults from a distance.

But when it comes to debating their ideas? No show.

Richard Tice pulled out.
Farage won’t face me.
Now their candidate in Gorton & Denton has ducked our candidate Hannah Spencer.

Vote Green.

That album is an amazing experience. It's like revisiting a great novel that you've loved for years.

I've just remembered that in Alan Moore's "What Can We Know about Thunderman" his stand-in for the Fantastic Four comic is "The Unrealistic Five", and I laugh every time I think of that title.

Yeah, it was probably for the best. Byrne said that they had to fight to get Kraven the Hunter in an issue of MTU because all the traditional Amazing Spider-Man villains were marked as off-limits.

It's better than the concurrent Amazing Spider-Man run. It's a shame that Claremont and Byrne were never given a crack at the main title.

The idea that a smarmy little man who won his seat by 528 votes genuinely believes he could somehow become a successful prime minister is just irritating. I'd rather they kept Starmer, FFS.
This is the funniest headline I seen in a long time. And bravo to whoever underlined the desperation with the juxtaposed link.

Turns out yes! I'd have been surprised if it hadn't been. All of his films seem very carefully crafted to me.

Hat off to John Boorman; this is a masterclass in composition. The entire story is told visually and there isn't a single dull shot in sight. 2/2

Watched Hell in the Pacific for the first time the other night. *Damn*, that's a movie. Two actors, almost no dialogue. It had its hand around my throat from start to finish. 1/2
