If we're gonna actually be about that engagement life might as well throw some photos up too. Let's start with some California/Oregon landscapes I've done over the years.
Pardon me while I die laughing at the Farrakhan numerology part. That was the fun fact I didn't know I needed today....
God. Look away or pay attention, this shit is soooo cooked.

Especially San Francisco tho. Whew what I'd give to be in Chicago at least. At least that mayor has some balls.
All I can say is, Mel is 80 goddamn years old and still rotates like 2-3 Corvairs in and out for service a week.

Corvairs keep you young, clearly.

I just stopped looking at that side of the internet for my health but I'm sure they've started already.
How long before YIMBY zealots say if you don’t want the military deployed in your city you are a NIMBY?

Trumpers commenting on the lack of Black people at No Kings rallies. (As if they care.) Here’s the reason. It’s a Democratic Party astroturf campaign with no concrete demands that also pledges allegiance to imperialist foreign policy. Virtue signaling dressed up as a movement.
The weird thing to say is today I mastered one of my favorite drives: CA Route 84 between 280
& San Gregorio.

Did many downhill sweepers in excess of 60mph with no tire squealing.

Fuck your Porsche, drive a Corvair.
It was inevitable the inspiration would kick in kinda quick. A new episode where we shut up and drive (our Corvairs preferably). 2.5 hours of 1965 into 1966 roadworthy tunes for this Sunday and beyond:

Listening With Larsupreme Episode #31: Don't Talk, Just Drive - The Grace Lucille Chronicles Vol #1

“A dream and some good lighting is all we got” - Kyle Chvasta

(Clearly, first day trip loop to the Delta and back went well).
Thanks to Mel’s Vair Mart (and Mel’s from the same part of Texas as my Flanagan ancestry! Small world!) Grace Lucille drives I’m guessing as close to what any 60 year old Corvair could be as close to showroom.

You can’t beat the smiles per gallon.
hate to be it's just time to be off the internet but... it might just be time to be off the internet.
So much for "decentralized" eh? The owners & operators of this platform are fascists & racists, & they keep proving it more & more.
Let me get this straight: Link, a Black user, got banned for calling out the Bluesky CEO for following a racist. That’s not a good look, especially given Bluesky’s historical treatment of Black users here on bluesky.
Even the ephemeral street portrait someone agrees to is so special in documenting a fleeting connection.

One beautiful person that I’ll always strive to catch what I think is the perfect portrait of is Ted Rees because honestly he’s made sure I’ve seen more of the beauty the world has to offer…
The most beautiful faces I’ve met in my life are the honest ones. So goes why I’m probably the harshest self critic about my portrait work. I’m always trying to document some sort of accuracy about feelings.

Been overjoyed to see them land on coffee tables coast to coast. Did this as not to profit from creativity but acknowledge that I’ve gotten lots of love and validation over 15 years of practicing film photography.

There’s just under 20 left. If you want one free of charge, hit me up!
Haven’t posted about this here but I did a lil limited run of zines of my car photography.

I prioritized getting 30 or so to people that have long encouraged me with photography (like @patrickjoust.bsky.social, @mwriston.bsky.social).

Wait. Bitches really thought the rapture was coming and I bought a Corvair so I could look cute going apple picking?

Two different planets....
Which theme as I close out life in the Bay Area: take what and who you need to go forward. Let that be a lesson in this season of transition.

Remembering where the passionate love is in your life will save you.
I basically time traveled back to September 24, 1964 when the 1965 Corvairs debuted and said “nah lemme get the coupe this time.”

60 years to the day they officially went on sale, I got Grace Lucille Jones, Frankie’s fraternal twin.

Sankofa, baby. 9/24 is that day.
….if he only knew how much it meant to impress him.

Anyways to Bertha Tillman and 1960 Impalas, happy birthday tomorrow.
